Feature of the Month - Knitter's Pride Needles
We are now very pleased to offer Knitter's Pride needles. These needles are made from densified laminated birch wood, which is more costly and much harder than either ebony or rosewood. Unlike other wooden needles, water absorption in these Symfonie wood needles is negligible and, as a result, there is no chance of warping. The same property that makes these needles strong also enables the points to stay sharp.
The Dreamz line of needles is offered in a full range of 11 radiant colours. A colour has been assigned to each size; that colour carries through in all the needle styles: straight, circular (fixed and interchangeable), double points and crochet hooks. Imagine how this aids in organizing your collection. It also provides ease of identification for partially sighted knitting and/or crochet artists. |

Project Ideas
Echo, the lovely cardigan featured on the right is knit in Shibui's Heichi, a 100% silk yarn that is a perfect alternative for those who don't want a wool cardigan. Knit from cuff to centre, the V-neck is created using short rows instead of decreases and the centre back seam is exposed to see the effect of using two colours. Fun and quick to knit!
The Flukra shawl by The Shetland Trader, begins with a Shetland construction method to create a centre triangle. Stitches are then easily picked up from the yarn over loops that are formed down two sides and the border is worked outwards from the triangle. Suggested yarn is Madelinetosh Tosh Lace. Exquisite!
And, Stephen West never disappoints and his Gyllis simple lace scarf is stunning. This scarf is worked in sections divided by different locations of increases that give the fabric a dramatic arched shape. A sample of this scarf knit in Misti Alpaca's Qualla Sport will soon be available for viewing at our Point Grey location.
