Feature of the Month - Madelinetosh
After much anticipation, we are thrilled to announce that Madelinetosh yarns have finally arrived!
We now carry a large selection of her Tosh DK, Merino DK, and for lace  lovers, her Pure Silk Lace. "Enthused with a love of painting and influenced by the rich history of art in textiles, Madelinetosh sought to create a color palette guided by the subtle nuances and layered depth of colors found in the natural world," and that is something she has most definitely achieved.
The possibilities with these yarns are endless! One suggestion is the featured Varese Hoodie, which would look stunning in either of her DK weight yarns.

Project Ideas
A great long seamless tank, Liesl, shown on the right, would look lovely knit with the new Montaya Beach by Punta Yarns.

Honey Cowl is a quick and fun free pattern using the new Madelinetosh DK. This cowl is a great project to work on while watching the hockey games!

Upcoming Events
Only a few spaces are left in the two classes being offered by Margaret Radcliffe, a knitter for 45 years, designer for 25, and author of the bestselling Knitting Answer Book and The Essential Guide to Colour Knitting Techniques.
First up, we have Two-Handed Two-Colour Knitting, on Wed., May 25th, 7-8:30 pm. This is a fast, time-honoured method of knitting colour patterns without having to drop each colour and pick up the next. You will be learn how to hold two colours of yarn simultaneously as well as how to weave in long strands on the back of the fabric as you go. Margaret will also provide tips on working from charts and stranded knitting techniques.
Next up is Perfect Your Circular Knitting on Thurs. May 26th from 1-2:30 pm. In this class you will not only become more comfortable with double pointed needles and joining your knitting into a circle, but you will also learn how to deal with those loose stitches between your double points and other circular knitting challenges. In addition, you will be instructed on converting patterns from flat to circular.
The cost for these classes is only $35.00, so sign up soon to reserve a spot.
Margaret will be offering a free book signing event on Friday, May 27th from 7-9 pm. All events will take place at our Point Grey location.
