For spring they have introduced some beautiful new colours and accompanying patterns.  New colours of Fine include; dragonfly, goldfish, green bean, orangutan and wildberries; Outer has introduced bubble and ballerina; and in Sweater, igloo, barn and waterslide.  Lovely new patterns featuring these yarns will be arriving imminently,  including the new Best Friend SweaterValentine Cardi, and the most adorable Bunny Hat and Blankie featured on the right.

One of our latest additions is Angel, a new yarn by Debbie Bliss. This well valued, beautiful mohair and silk blend lace yarn is available in a wide assortment of colours.  Her book, also entitled Angel, features a variety of patterns from short to long shrugs, tanks to cardigans, mittens and more.

Project Ideas

Looking for a beautiful triangular shawl pattern?  Stephen West's Akimbo, starts at the neck edge with an easy garter stitch and finishes up with a graphic chevron pattern, creating a beautiful scalloped border.  This pattern would look amazing in the new Fleece Artist 2/6.

The Willow Cowl, a free pattern on Ravelry, can be dressed up or down and uses only one skein of sock yarn.  In support of our Canadian artists, some sock yarns that come to mind are Fleece Artist's Trail Sock, Sweet Georgia's Tough Love Sock, Alexa's Gourmet Sock, and Indigo Moon's hand-dyed merino superwash.

Annie Modesitt has an outstanding Corset Tank Pullover pattern available for download.  Knit from the top down, this very flattering corset with a flared lace pattern at the hips can be knit as long or as short as you like.  Yarn suggestion would be the new Woolie Silk 3-ply by Fleece Artist

Upcoming Events

We would like to thank everyone who knit hats for the Caps for Good project.  Even though this charity followed closely on the heels of the Children's Hospital Shaken Baby project, the response we received was tremendous.  In particular, we were very touched by the box of 38 caps knit by Michel, each with hand written labels and messages to mother and baby.  Anina and Jan will be delivering them at TNNA this week in Long Beach for distribution to Save the Children.  Congratulations on helping save the lives of many newborn babies in the developing world!

Stay tuned for more upcoming events.
