Feature of the Month - Pick Up Sticks
Pick Up Sticks has created a number of new collections that you won't want to miss!
Meet Benji and Friends! Benji is a felted doll who has two best friends, Taylor and Fiona. Knit all three and then dress them up in ballet gear or a school girl outfit. Or, keep your feet warm this winter with Skull or Flower Mukluks or Little Tootsies.
And, if you're already thinking of Christmas, knit some Mini Hat and Mitten holiday decorations, samples of which are available for viewing at our Point Grey location. |

Project Ideas
Knitting at Home features 60 classic patterns from Ella Rae Designs. A favourite is the Hooded House Coat, a super cozy house coat that you'll want to live in. This pattern would work well with Cascade 220 or Berrocco's Ultra Alpaca. The new Knitsimple Holiday 2010 magazine has an adorable collection of patterns for Forest Friends including must-have little owls, knit using Blue Sky Alpaca's Worsted Cotton. A sample will soon be available for viewing at our Point Grey location. There are so many great project ideas from Debbie Stoller's new book! The staff at Urban Yarns have been working on loads of different samples including Crush, an adorable shrug that can be "crushed" into a tiny clutch for a night out. The book features this particular pattern knit in Rowan Kidsilk Haze, but you could also make it using Haiku from Alchemy. The sky's the limit!
