Greetings!

San Francisco Stars proudly presents the Netball America Nationals

We invite you to join us for a day of high energy, fast-paced, competitive netball at the Netball America National Championships in conjunction with the 5th Annual San Francisco Open Netball Tournament.

This exciting event will take place on Saturday October 16, 2010 in beautiful San Francisco, the world famous City by the Bay.

Please download the full registration information packet here.

Want to play and don't have a team?  Email us and we'll find a team for you.

LOCATION OF COURTS: The courts are located at the Joe Dimaggio North Beach Playground at Lombard Street and Powell Street, San Francisco, CA 94133.

ENTRY: Early Bird Registration Fee is $200 per team, if received by September 30, 2010; and $250 thereafter. Deadline for all entries is October 8, 2010.

All completed registration forms and entry fees should be mailed to: Cathryn Weems, 3977 Greenwood Avenue, Oakland, CA 94602.
Please make all checks or money orders payable to: Cathryn Weems. To register online, visit www.netballamerica.com.
Credit card payments are also accepted here.

ELIGIBILITY TO PLAY: This is an OPEN tournament and all teams are welcome - women's teams, men's teams, and mixed teams (up to 3 male players on court per game, with each of them playing in different thirds of the court).

The title "Netball America National Champions" will be awarded to the top placed teams in each of the 3 categories - women's, men's, mixed.
All players are required to understand the rules of netball and be able to play a controlled game of netball.

We are also excited to announce that we have 2 teams from Australia who will be participating in this tournament.

AIRPORTS: We recommend that you fly into San Francisco International Airport, from where you can take the Bay Area Rapid Transit train (BART) into the city ($8pp, 40 minutes ride), or
a shared airport van to your hotel ($17pp, 30-50 minutes ride), or a taxi to your hotel ($40, 25 minutes ride). Other airports in the vicinity include: Oakland International Airport ($70 taxi, 40 minutes to SF), and San Jose International Airport ($150 taxi, 1 hour and 15 minutes to SF).

ACCOMMODATION & TRANSPORTATION: Lucy Neugart has kindly offered her services to help anyone with their hotel search. Feel free to contact her if you would like more information about a particular hotel. She can be reached at 415-624-925 or [email protected].

A FEW MORE TIPS: Any of the hotels in Fisherman's Wharf area would be close to the netball courts (4 blocks walk). Alternatively, if your priority is shopping, the hotels near Embarcadero
and Union Square are good.
From here, the courts are approximately 20 minutes walk or $8 taxi ride.
A few hotels to consider are Hotel Vitale, Grand Hyatt, and Westin. A good search engine for your hotels in the San Francisco Bay Area is NexTag.com. We recommend you book your accommodations as soon as possible.

The Nike Women's Marathon is taking place the Sunday
following the netball tournament and hotel rooms are booking fast.

NETBALL AMERICA ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING: Will be held on the evening of Friday, October 15, 2010, in San Francisco. Further details will be sent shortly.

Netball America and the San Francisco Stars look forward to hosting your players and supporters for a day of great competition, good fun and sportsmanship.
