Greetings!
The
first quarter of 2010 has seen Netball America make some huge strides
with exposure to 6,000 teachers and coaches at the AAHPERD conference
in Indiana, 35,000 attendees at the Rugby 7's tournament in Vegas and
having Netball make its debut at the NBA.
In
addition, Netball America is excited to congratulate the successful
East and West Coast trialists who will take the floor at the Staples
Center and Madison Square Garden events. The competition was tough
and it was great to see such a good turnout for both events!
The
countdown is on for the opening night of the WNBA NY Liberty and
Netball showcase at Madison Square Garden
This is a huge feat for the game with 14,000 sets of eyes on the
game. Netball America is now tasked with getting as many of you and
your supporters to the events. To offer a little incentive we have
teamed up with the folks from Madison Square Garden to offer exciting
prizes, including a Madison VIP experience as a prize for the club
who sells the most tickets for the May 16th
event. The competition will run until April 30 and keep an eye on
the website / face book page for competition leaders.
As
always, we are consistently looking for new ideas for this newsletter
and any volunteers who want to help spread the word about Netball -
please, drop us a line if you have an hour to spare or have any
suggestions.
Happy Playing! Sonya
Ottaway, President, Netball America

MADISON SQUARE GARDEN EVENT & COMPETITION
Netball
America has worked hard to establish the partnership with the NBA and
WNBA. We are grateful to be given the opportunity to shine the
spotlight on some of the country's top Netball players to
demonstrate how the game is played, recruit American players, and
raise the profile of Netball in America.
WE NEED YOUR HELP! Send out flyers to your friends, family and
co-workers; encourage these people to attend the events. Those
unable to attend the events are asked to make a tax deductible donation enabling Netball America to invite kids from local schools,
PE teachers and other local officials, with the aim of getting
Netball into schools. For the Madison Square Garden event we are
sponsoring the George Washington Carver High School - Springfield
Gardens High School Campus. Thanks to Crusaders Netball Club for
working with us to identify this school.
Lend
us your Facebook page for a day - but updating your profile to
promote the Madison Square Garden event. Also help us identify
potential sponsors who will have exposure to over 30,000 highly
affluent basketball fans. You can also volunteer on the organizing
