Walk the "Red Carpet" with BOMA/Chicago at our Hollywood-themed trade show and after-party on Thursday, May 13, 2010 at The Merchandise Mart.
The show will open with lunch from 1:00-2:00 PM and will run until 6:30 PM. Immediately following the Trade Show will be our attendee-only Red Carpet after-party at 6:30 PM.
Stop by the over 75 booths to say hello to some of your favorite vendors and meet some new BOMA/Chicago members. Prizes will be raffled out throughout the afternoon culminating with a trip for two to Hollywood.
Please note: This event is open exclusively to BOMA/Chicago Building Members. Only Affiliate Members who are exhibiting will be allowed to attend the Trade Show and After Party.

Three BOMA/Chicago Buildings Take Regional TOBY Awards

In today's complex business environment, it is becoming increasingly important for property managers to know how to address legal and risk management issues. This course will provide you with a foundation in the basic principles of law and risk management, helping you deal with everyday legal and risk issues surrounding your business.In addition to covering leasing and conveyancing, the course covers important issues concerning torts, contracts, employer/employee relations, property rights, and environmental law.
The course also describes the risk management process, covering the assessment of loss exposures and determining how to handle the daily risks that property managers encounter. You will learn about the insurance market, different types of insurance policies, and the claims adjustment process. The course also covers equipment breakdown insurance, which is an area of growing concern for real estate managers.This BOMI Institute course is required for the RPA designation program.

IREJ Women in Real Estate Issue

The Illinois Real Estate Journal is producing its third Annual Women in Real Estate supplement. This 4-color glossy piece will be polybagged in the May/June issue of IREJ. Each woman will have her color photo, contact information, 50 word professional description and a 40-50 word company description. This also includes her company logo and--if indicated--the BOMA/Chicago logo in the description as well. Last year, the IREJ had 135 women featured and they hope to expand on that this year.
