This program is your opportunity to learn about ways and means of nondestructively evaluating existing structure for best accomplishing these objectives. You will learn about nondestructive techniques available to help evaluate the condition and capacity of existing structure, how to avoid unintentional damage when sawing or coring penetrations in floors or walls and how to evaluate hidden features such as façade fixings. 

Speaker: Bernard H. Hertlein M.ASCE, Principal Scientist with AECOM, USA, has 25 years of international experience in non-destructive evaluation of structures and deep foundations including numerous Chicago area and Midwestern redevelopment or rehabilitation projects with a leading U.S. engineering practice. He is chairman of the ASTM Nondestructive Testing Committee and secretary of the American Concrete Institute Nondestructive Testing Committee.  He has made numerous presentations at engineering conferences and conventions and as an invited lecturer to engineering classes at several universities.
