Division Update - Planning and Assessment
The college has successfully implemented the Planning Module of the Strategic Planning Online (SPOL) software.  Those who presented at budget hearings used the software to submit all of their information without the paperwork hassle.   Departments who did not participate in budget hearings will be required to submit their annual planning information using SPOL in the next couple of weeks.  Now that the planning module has been mastered, a new module is soon to be introduced to the campus.  The Assessment Module will allow for departments to report their results from the Student Learning Outcomes assessments directly into SPOL.  This will streamline the reporting of results and eliminate the need for massive amounts of paper!  Training for this module will begin soon - dates will be announced shortly.  Although it is sometimes a daunting task to learn new things, in the end SPOL will be a tremendous asset.

Local Dialing Changes
Effective June 5, you will be required to dial 10 digits for all local calls.  The telephone numbers will not change except that you will need to dial 256 prior to any local number.  For example, to dial locally, you would dial 92563528000 where previously you would only have to dial 93528000.

Additionally, we now have another area code for our local area.  This new area code is 938 which will be assigned only to new numbers in the area.  Current numbers will NOT change.

The dialing rules within our college's phone system have changed to allow us to use either the 7 digit or the 10 digit dial until June 5, 2010, when the 7 digit dialing rules will no longer work.
Please contact Bruce Tenison at x8149 with any questions.
