Division Update - Student Services
Graduation last Friday was just beautiful, and I know that an event like that doesn't just happen--it iwas definitely the product of lots of hard work and planning behind the scenes.  However, those efforts are so gratifying as you expereince the joy from viewing the students' as they bring family and friends to help them celebrate the new world of opportunities for them.  All of our students have different backgrounds, challenges, gifts, and desires, but for that one occasion we get to see that they have reached a common goal.  They have finished what they set out to do, whether that be a certificate or degree, and they are proud of that accomplishment. We have assisted them in reaching that goal by advising them, providing them an appropriate learning environment, registering them, answering their financial aid questions, teaching them, maintaining their records, nurturing them, encouraging them, and a host of other things that contributed to their college experience.   As we watch this group exit and embark on new experiences, we also realize that our work is far from done as we have many more students to serve.  We are currently in summer registration and then Lions' Pride events start next month to usher in new students who plan to attend in the fall.  Thanks for all you do to put students first at WSCC and for helping our students meet their goals.  We are Wallace State!

Lion Alert
To update your contact information for the Lion Alert system, visit  https://www.myschoolcast.com/go/ws/. The username and password is the same you use to access your Wallace State email. This system will send you a text/email/voice message in the event of a college closing or other emergency.

Local Dialing Changes
Effective June 5, you will be required to dial 10 digits for all local calls.  The telephone numbers will not change except that you will need to dial 256 prior to any local number.  For example, to dial locally, you would dial 92563528000 where previously you would only have to dial 93528000.

Additionally, we now have another area code for our local area.  This new area code is 938 which will be assigned only to new numbers in the area.  Current numbers will NOT change.

The dialing rules within our college's phone system have changed to allow us to use either the 7 digit or the 10 digit dial until June 5, 2010, when the 7 digit dialing rules will no longer work.
Please contact Bruce Tenison at x8149 with any questions.

New Logos
The new WSCC logo, lion, and seal are now available for download on the Wallace State intranet. Please be sure to use these on new materials, and update old forms and other materials when possible.
