Division Update - Health Sciences
Administrative Professional's Day and Mother's Day celebrations recently have made me reflect on the important women in my life.  In my biological family, I've had the good fortune to be blessed with a bounty of loving, strong, supportive women throughout my life.  I live in a household with three guys, so I've always needed the support of my posse of girlfriends to maintain my personal sanity.

The Health Sciences division has also been blessed with a group of loving, strong, supportive women.  Mechelle Baker, Jennifer Branham, Jennifer Dunkle, Shirley Moore, Kim Twitty, and Debra Young are the unit secretaries for our division.  These ladies are the frontline contacts for all of our programs.  Their support allows our program directors and faculty to focus more on student learning and program responsibilities.  It would be impossible to list all the duties that each secretary performs, but in a nutshell they keep our departments running more smoothly.
My administrative assistant is Sharon Harris.  She is a seasoned college employee but is new to the health science division.  Of course, I'm a newcomer to my position also. I told Sharon early on that it would be the "blind leading the blind," and that we were biblically headed to the ditch!  In reality, I'm the more visually impaired. Sharon overcomes any division specific deficits through a network of contacts, experience in other departments, and her tenacious work ethic.

Thanks ladies for all you do to make our jobs in the Health Sciences division more manageable!
                                                                     -Lisa German
