Division Update - Student Services
Even though spring semester is coming to a close in less than a month, activities are in high gear all around campus. We are delighted to be offering Arts in April, athletic events for softball, golf and baseball, scholarship signing events, Honors Night, graduation and pinning ceremonies, and certainly our Spring Commencement on May 14, just to name a few! We are also proud to be celebrating Community College Month as well as Earth Day on campus and use these times to be reminded of how fortunate we are to have the community and environment we have around us. Our student body is 6500 strong and with all the activities on campus, our students and staff have still managed to find the time to support such noteworthy causes as Haiti Relief, Red Cross, Victim Services, Miracle Fields, and Relay for Life. This busy time of the academic year is a time to be reminded that excellence abounds at Wallace State and provides a great environment for students to learn, lead and grow. We are Wallace State.
Learning Outcomes Update
"Begin with the end in mind." (Stephan Covey) We are doing just that at Wallace State with Learning Outcomes. We have identified the characteristics of the Wallace State Community College graduate by developing measureable outcomes. Wallace State Community College graduates: 1. Learn Actively: They participate directly in learning activities. 2. Think Critically: They develop the skills to examine issues or ideas. 3. Communicate Clearly: They demonstrate the ability to exchange ideas. 4. Use Technology Effectively: They can access and utilize information technology. 5. Interact in Diverse Environments: They are aware of diversity of the human experience and respond in global contexts. The Wallace State faculty realize these are critical skills for success in life. These skills are infused in each class, with each interaction with students. -Dr. Teresa Ray-Connell

You can now rely on Lion Alert as your official source of the most accurate and current information.
