Welcome to Spring Semester 2010!
Student Services Update:
Enrollment for Spring Semester has certainly started out at a
record-breaking pace with Headcount (HC) of 5978 and Credit Hour Production
(CHP) of 65,638 as of this morning. While classes started yesterday, the
drop/add period of registration will continue through Friday, January 15. For
comparison's sake, final enrollment numbers for Fall 2009 were HC of 6313 and CHP
of 67,940. 2010 will emphasize performing arts to coincide with the opening of
the Burrow Center for Fine and Performing Arts and the college's Year of the
Arts celebration. This along with other opportunities will provide numerous
occasions for WSCC students to learn, lead and grow. It is an exciting time of
growth on campus, not only with an increase in enrollment and new buildings
being unveiled, it is a time for everyone to support our planet with green
efforts such as recycling, to support our community with service projects such
as blood drives, to support our campus with anti-littering campaigns, and to
support one another. We have opportunities to cheer on our athletic programs
that continue to follow a pattern of excellence, health programs that
consistently hail impressive passage rates on certification exams, students that
receive state and national recognition, and staff that support student success
at every level. We have a great deal to be proud of but we also have a
challenge to keep raising that bar--2010 is the year to do so and Spring Semester
will no doubt get it started right! ~ Dr. Tomesa Smith Glenn Miller Orchestra Kicks Off Year of the Arts with Performances Feb. 4-5
