Future Foundation Scholarship Luncheon Update from Suzanne Harbin:
The Fifth Annual Future Foundation Student Investment Luncheon was held on Tuesday, October 27, with great success. A major investment in the lives of Wallace State students was made through this event and in great measure. Over $190,000 was raised through this event and the total is still rising as the Foundation has received additional contributions from the event. The total includes funds raised through table sponsorships, scholarship endowments, and the silent and live auctions. These funds will provide scholarships for over 250 Wallace State students, including Dual Enrollment students. It was an amazing day, in a new venue, and with great results.
The Future Foundation Board of Directors worked diligently to ensure that our event doubled in size from the year before. Those individuals include: Billy Jackson, President; Fred Cespedes, Vice-President; Phyllis Brewer, Secretary-Treasurer; Norris Atchley, Evelyn Burrow, Jenny Folsom, Dale Greer, Donna Guthrie, Dr. Hawsey, Betty Leeth Haynes, Joe Holmes, Don Hubbard, Lance Nail, Shirley Quattlebaum, and Gloria Williams. Many thanks to all of our colleagues who came to assist in set-up, clean-up and during the event. It would not have been possible without all of you. Whether you were a contributor, a volunteer, or a supporter, each of us will have had an impact on a student's life from our work at this event. That in itself is a great reward.
Cherie and I are honored to serve the Future Foundation and the Future Foundation Board of Directors, and we look forward to a promising year ahead. We are extremely grateful for all of your help, support, and kind words as we carried out this event. Behind every great event is a team of individuals who "make it happen," and we are blessed to work with a great team.
