Heather DeMoras Design Consultants Utilizes Tile to Harmonize Arts and Crafts Movement Details with a Spirited, Modern Twist
This project showcases a custom-built residence that is near the town of East Aurora, NY. The area was the birthplace of the Roycroft Movement in the early 20th century. This philosophy of design served as the inspiration for the home, which was built from the ground up. Heather DeMoras Design Consultants coordinated all aspects of the interior, using custom tile design to support and enhance the Arts & Crafts flair of the residence.
Heather, who opened the doors to her firm in 1999, prides herself upon really listening to her clients to create projects that reflect both their aesthetics and dreams. In the case of the East Aurora Residence, details were of the utmost importance in creating a family treasure that would last for generations.
Tile Wholesalers helped bring the project to life through the use of hand-made art glass tiles that are produced in small batches at Oceanside Glass Tile. Heather also selected porcelain tile from Casa dolce casa and custom cut slate from Cleftstone Works used in the kitchen, dining room and 1st floor corridors to provide eye-pleasing unity with durability.
By paying discerning attention to detail throughout the project, the end result is both comfortable and welcoming, while reflecting the simple shapes and strong lines of the Arts & Crafts style.
