Fall 2010 E-Newsletter

From the President

Welcome!

Fall is certainly a time for change. A change in temperature, a change in the color of the leaves and a change away from the lazy days of summer. This newsletter we'll also see a change. In the first two newsletters, we highlighted commercial projects. For this issue, we'll switch gears and spotlight a residential project, with a residential designer (actually 2!). Take a moment and view the absolutely stunning photos of a private residence recently completed by Custom Kitchens by Martin. It's truly amazing what attention to detail does for a project. It's also what still drives Tile Wholesalers to deliver the best service and products to market each and every day.

Take time to enjoy the changes occurring every day. I hope you enjoy this issue.

Continue to send me feedback and let me know how we're doing; it's very important! On that note, please take a moment to fill in a quick survey about our newsletter. We want to make sure that it is meeting your needs while we make it the best we can. Please take our survey now.

Featured Designers: Kimberly Martin and Jennifer Richards

We always enjoy sharing projects that use tile to reflect an individual's personality; and in this case, there are two!

Bathroom 2Custom Kitchens by Martin recently completed a project for a family in the Greater Rochester area that encompassed remodeling/replacing two existing bathrooms for their two very distinctive children.

In addition to developing designs that reflect the children, there were very specific architectural elements from the existing rooms, such as heavy crown molding, which needed to blend in with the upgrades.

The existing bathrooms were each designed with a typical tub/shower combination. It was the client's wish to remove the existing tubs and have custom tiled showers, each with their own "wow" factor upon completion. Equally important, the client wanted their tile and material choices to be both unique, and timeless. The client also required that the existing floors remain in place. Kimberly, who started Custom Kitchens by Martin with her husband in 1995, knew that finding the right mix of materials along with the proper way to balance them would make the project challenging.

Bathroom 2Tile Wholesalers was able to provide a wide range of products for her to consider that would help bring a natural-colored, masculine space and a lighter, fun, more feminine space to life. Hand-made tiles and glass accents by Jeffrey Court, glass mosaics and accents by Stone & Pewter Accents, and several Crossville Ceramics pieces gave both rooms sophistication as well as individuality.

Being able to locate so many different products from one source made the project much more streamlined. Kimberly and Jennifer wanted to be able to layout each bathroom with all the patterns in advance so the client could truly envision the completed project. Book-matching the tile on the wall to the existing floor and adding a layer of glass on the base molding to create a truly custom feel were just two of the details the team worked painstakingly to bring together.

By focusing on what is the best solution for each individual client, Kimberly and Jennifer are able to bring dream spaces to life in homes across the region.

Tile Wholesalers of Rochester, Inc. is proud to be the partner of choice for designers like Kimberly and Jennifer. We would like to thank Custom Kitchens by Martin for sharing their beautiful project and participating as our Featured Designers.
