Urban Forest Management

Our staff of professional arborists provide unbiased recommendations on individual tree care, including removal, pruning, and planting.

At the project management level, our staff provides guidance on planning for the use of urban trees, in conjunction with limitations imposed by government regulation of wetlands and endangered species.

Aesthetically, an appropriately sited, cared-for tree on a residential lot can increase the home price by $10,000 or more.  Tree buffers screening industrial facilities or transportation infrastructure from residential areas can have a similar value per lot.

Fire Management and Prescribed Burning

ESI's staff has performed prescribed burns for clients in Florida and Georgia to accomplish a variety of objectives, including reducing the risk of wildfire, clearing land prior to site preparation or conversion, or restoring native habitats. In addition to planning and implementing prescribed burns, ESI staff have conducted wildfire risk assessments and prepared risk-mitigation plans as potentially required by local, state, and federal agencies.

PROVIDING SUPERIOR SOLUTIONS TO ENVIRONMENTAL, NATURAL, CULTURAL AND SUSTAINABLE RESOURCE NEEDS
Celebrate Forests. Celebrate Life

The United Nations General Assembly declared 2011 as the International Year of Forests (IYOF) to raise awareness on sustainable management, conservation and sustainable development of all types of forests. The theme of the U.S. campaign is "Celebrate Forests. Celebrate Life."

IYOF is a global platform to celebrate people's actions to sustainably manage the world's trees and forests. The objectives are to reverse loss of forest cover, enhance economic, social and environmental benefits, increase areas of sustainably managed forests, and to mobilize increased financial resources.

Sponsored by the U.S. Forest Service, the official U.S. campaign is focused on why trees and forests are important to Americans, and why our citizens should care about their upkeep, health and survival.

The overarching goals are to:
  • Increase awareness of and elevate the conversation about the importance of trees and forests in the U.S. and the benefits they provide.
  • Celebrate people's actions to sustainably manage forests.
  • Raise awareness of sustainable management, conservation and sustainable development of all types of forests to new audiences. (Source: http://www.celebrateforests.com/about-year-forests)
