ESI's ANSI accreditation under ISO 14065:2007 for Greenhouse Gas Validation and Verification Bodies is now accepted by the CarbonFix Standard. This will allow ESI to verify projects according to the CarbonFix Standard.
CarbonFix is a leading Standard for climate forestation projects. Its aim is to increase the amount of sustainably managed forests to decrease the levels of global atmospheric CO2. Projects certified according to the CarbonFix Standard are known for their high social and ecological engagements. The criteria of the Standard hereby follow the principles of the WWF, in that projects must be real and unique, additional, measurable, permanent, are independently verified and have sustainable development benefits.
The criteria of the Standard was developed by the technical board of the association CarbonFix together with over 60 other forestry and development aid organizations worldwide. In 2010, the standard was evaluated as being the most robust and transparent standard available for climate forestation projects in the voluntary carbon market. (Source:

ESI had previously received accreditation from American National Standards Institute (ANSI) under ISO 14065:2007 for greenhouse gas validation and verification bodies. The scope of accreditation includes ISO 14065:2007, ISO 14064-3:2006, and verification/validation of assertions related to greenhouse gas emission reductions and removals at the project level for Land Use and Forestry (Group 3). To achieve the accreditation, ESI successfully completed an exhaustive review and assessment process during which the firm demonstrated specialized credentials to provide independent and impartial validation and verification of greenhouse gas emissions reductions.
Read our ANSI press release >>>There are only 20 ANSI accredited (ISO 14065:2007) validation and verification bodies total globally. In addition, ESI is
one of five companies that is accredited by ANSI for validation and verification of assertions related to GHG emissions reductions and removals at the project level for the Land Use and Forestry (Group 3).
With this recent CarbonFix accreditation,
ESI now possess eight select certifications that establish ESI as a leader in the environmental field. These accreditations are: (American National Standards Institute (ANSI), Climate Action Registry (CAR), CarbonFix, American Carbon Registry (ACR), Voluntary Carbon Standard (VCS), Chicago Climate Exchange (CCX), Climate, Community and Biodiversity Alliance (CCBA), and Pacific Carbon Trust (PCT).
ESI is in preliminary talks to work with or has worked with the following countries: USA, Canada, Brazil, Chile, DRC, Kenya, Uganda, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Belize, China, Columbia, Bangladesh, Brunei, Honduras, Peru and Guyana.
