President's Letter April 2011
Greetings!
April showers bring May flowers, great weather and...CHAPTER ELECTIONS! Yes, hard to believe, but it's already time for Chapter Elections. By now you should have received an email with chapter election information and a nomination form. If you're interested in serving on the ISES-NCC Board of Directors, please complete the Call for Nominations application and submit it to our Executive Director, Kelvin Nanney. There are a few Director at Large positions available for next year and we would love to get some new faces on our board! Serving on the board is a great experience, and if you're interested or have questions about what it entails, feel free to contact myself or any of our board members to get firsthand knowledge of what to expect. April also means there are only 2 more events left for our 2010 - 2011 ISES year. However, this April, I have added an additional event - a special benefit to our members. In light of everything that is going on in the world, I feel that it's important to know the core basics in saving a life. In doing so, our chapter will host a FREE CPR/AED certification class on Tuesday, April 19th to the first 30 members who register. See below for additional details. On May 17th we will be hosting our annual trip to the wine country. Be sure to check our website for additional information. We will also be hosting our May Membership Drive. It's the perfect time to renew your membership so we can waive the processing fee, or to join as a new member and get 14 months for the price of 12. Please contact Jill Schnaps for information regarding membership. And finally, our last event will be our Members Only meeting in June at the Press Club. If you need one more reason to join ISES, how about joining so you can be treated to fine wines, great friends and good times - this event is free to all ISES-NCC Members. At our June meeting, we will install our new board, have a great FREE prize drawing, and deliver our annual "State of the Chapter" report. This is a meeting you don't want to miss. Happy Spring! I hope to see you at all of these events, especially at our CPR class on April 19th! Yours truly, Morgan Doan President, ISES-NCC |

March Meeting
Going Big...Fast!
WE HAD FUN! ISES-NCC's March educational program: "Going Big....Fast!" was a complete success. Guests laughed, they learned and they listened to some incredible educational points about putting together the World Series Champion San Francisco Giants parade and pre-parties leading up to their winning it all. Guests arrived at the Palace Hotel and gathered for an hour of networking while enjoying an incredible Soundscape revolving around the history of the San Francisco Giants ball club, composed by the Peter Rudolfi Music Agency. After hellos and handshakes were traded, the group made their way across the hall where our incredible panel of speakers was set in swanky talk show-style soft seating courtesy of Blueprint Studios and ready with their presentation. Some guests took advantage of the front row "stadium style" seats while others chose a chair at one of the beautiful tables, sparkling with fresh linens from Napa Valley Linens and blooming with gorgeous flowers donated by Nancy Liu Chin Florals. Sara Hunt of AT&T Park jumped right in and handed off the conversation to her fellow AT&T Park associate and presenter, Stephen Revetria. After hearing about the superstitions of talking about the big win and how carefully meetings had to be kept under wraps, Nikki Rege of Hartmann Studios described just how hard it was to track down thousands of orange lighting instruments smack dab in the middle of Halloween season. Lee Gregory of McCalls Catering led us through some of the finer points of keeping ballpark tradition in line with fine taste and dining expectations, and Gordon Thompson of Cappa & Graham was happy to share the lessons he learned when offering "a bus or two" to help out with transportation and quickly found himself tracking down over 75. The presentation was absolutely wonderful. There was humor, there was education, and there were words of wisdom. As we wrapped up the panel of fun, guests were treated to a wonderful lunch from the Palace team. Our prize drawing was a hit, everything from baskets of wine to rock walls to climb. We won't forget any of it as all the incredible memories were captured by Orange Photography. A big thanks to ALL OUR SPONSORS and to everyone that attended.
