2012 INTERVIEW ABOUT JESUS IN THE CITY Host Tim Storey, Guest Ayanna Solomon
|
As we approach the 2012 Jesus in the City Parade and look back at the past 12 parades since 1999, we believe that God is doing a New Thing. Isaiah 43:18-21 says, "Do not remember the former things, nor consider the things of old; Behold, I do a New Thing" What is this New Thing? God is inspiring His people to spread the Gospel in new creative and effective ways. It's His desire for us to declare His praise in the public place. The Early Church was a Public Church, continually demonstrating the power and presence of God to a lost and dying world. We were created to declare His praise, Isaiah 43:21 "These people I have formed for Myself, they shall declare My praise."
OUR CITY We believe Toronto can become a Spiritual Hub where people travel from around the world to come and experience God in a fresh New way...a New Thing. A city where people know that the believers are not ashamed to publicly declare His Praise. A city favoured by God because of the righteous remnant worshipping on the streets passionately and creatively. We believe the Jesus in the City Parade can become a part of the cultural fabric of the City of Toronto and cities around the world.
OUR VOICE As Christians we should not be in position of trying to get our voice heard. We must operate from a position of Dominion and Government. As we go forth into the market place and the main stream media with the clear, attractive message of the Gospel, the next generation will not be confused as to who God is and whether He exists. Our responsibility to this generation is to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ and direct people to Heaven.
OUR PARADE If every Church or Christian Organization would take ownership of the Jesus in the Parade and make it a part of their annual outreach to the city, we could see the parade become the Largest, Strongest Parade in North America.
Let's make it MASSIVE, let's make it a MOVEMENT! Let's make it a NEW THING!
Sincerely,
Ayanna Solomon
