Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow! That means 6 more weeks of winter. And if you are like me, you have a ski trip planned and are hoping for some Spring storms.

In this newsletter I would like to discuss:

• Keeping your feet warm, not just on your trip
• Tools to make your ski trip better 
• Packing for your ski trip     

Due to the warm winter that we are having here in the Midwest, we have started our End-of-Season SALE early. But that is great for you, especially if you are getting ready for your end-of-season ski trip.

There is nothing worse than to make your way to the side of the mountain that you want to ski only to have someone in your group say, "My feet are cold." This can happen even in mildly cold weather. The solution: boot heaters.

For someone plagued with cold feet, the installation of battery heated insoles will "save the day". With the click of a switch, boots can be warmed for just a little while or all day.

Also, we highly recommend that you purchase extra insoles for the other boots and shoes that you use during the winter. Install the insoles and use your one set of batteries all winter, all the time.

A bag is necessary for traveling and a great way to carry and protect your gear. Choose from a basic bag, a hard travel case with wheels or find something in between.

Some packing tips that I can pass your way are:

• If it would be extremely difficult to find rental boots to fit should the airlines misplace your luggage, carry-on your boots. 
• Some people have been know to pack one ski outfit in their boot bag and another outfit in their ski bag. That way if one bag gets misplaced by the airlines, you have a set of clothes and just need to rent the skis or boots.
• Pack only what you know you will use and if you are travelling for more than one week, plan to wash on the road. You can cut back on the number of clothes items by packing multi-purpose clothing, for example items that can both be worn during the day skiing and as out-to-dinner-wear or sleepwear.
