| Helmets - Have you ever rung your bell? |
aka Brain Buckets
You don't want to mess around with a head injury. Today's helmets fit better, are stylin' and in some areas 'required'. Last month I wrote a newsletter that detailed the different features to consider when buying a helmet... here's the link. Gloves - The #1 injury for riders is wrists.
|
Who is going to help you in the bathroom when you have both wrists broke?
You can't afford NOT to protect yourself. 25% of all snowboard injuries affect the wrist joint with 70% being fractures and broken bones. That basically means you are out of action for 6 - 8 weeks for rehab. Hey, you have to have gloves to protect you from the cold and wet. Why not have them protect you from wrist injury at the same time? See Dakine men's Nova glove wrist guard - Black

| Butt Pad - Let's face it, boarders sit in the snow a lot. |
 | Dry Cheeks
|
Two choices: Dry or Padded
Dry Cheeks are waterproof and windproof so when your sitting on the snow or a cold chairlift, your rear end stays comfortable. The neoprene stretches to move with you allowing you to forget you even have it on. Being only 1/8" thick, it is designed to be worn over your base layers but under your pants so no one can tell you have them on. The Seirus Super Padded Protective Shorts provide super protection for your butt, tailbone and hips. The padding is both breathable and removable. It also insulates against snow when you're sitting. | | Seirus Padded shorts |
These Protective Shorts are about 1/2" so they fit comfortably under pants and should not be noticeable under loose fitting clothing. There is no padding in the front and they have a comfortable waistband with a draw cord. I'm not saying that everyone needs the padded shorts, but they are a great idea for a beginner. If you have ever know someone that has broken their coccyx (tailbone), you'll know how painful it is then to sit, lay or even stand. Think about it.
