EASON 4 BEGINS AIRING IN OCTOBER

NEW SEGMENTS! NEW PROJECTS! SAME GREAT PROGRAM!

It was a hectic week, but 13 new episodes are now "in the can". Before filming we asked you via Facebook what you would like to see on the next season and one request popped up over and over: more tips. You also wanted longer close ups or repeats of the pattern stitches.

day of filming!

Three hosts

Robyn, Maggie and Brett ready for filming.

We listened and have added a bit more time for each project and we added a tip segment. We continue to give equal billing to both knit and crochet with a project for each and the afghan square of the week. However, with the new format, we didn't have time for our interview segment so, we will move the interviews to our website. We'll keep you informed via Facebook and the newsletter as they are added.

Episodes will begin airing on local PBS stations in October.

We hope you like them. Thanks for your patience and loyalty.

Brett Gets Busy with a New Book

Hello, KCN Viewers!

Sewing a straight line cover
Brett's Cool New Sewing Book!

I know you're used to seeing me with yarn in my hands, but, like you, I love doing all kinds of crafts. One of my other favorites is sewing. I've been sewing all my life and now I finally have included it into my career.

Sewing in a Straight Line is the perfect book for anyone who would love to learn to sew, but didn't know where to start. I love to sew super easy projects so I made a book that would show readers that they can make cute projects even with very simple skills because anyone can sew a straight line! I created a collection of 26 projects for home decor, gifts, quilts, clothing and accessories that are cute and stylish and can all be made by simply sewing straight lines.

If you're reading this, you probably knit or crochet, but I bet some of you are sewers too, or are thinking about learning! I hope you'll check out my new book and visit my website to see the videos I made which will show you step-by-step how to sew a project from the book.

Happy crafting!

Brett

Big Ideas for Small Projects
With summer winding down you may not be ready to commit to a big project, so we thought you'd enjoy two books that feature tiny projects that will bring big smiles to your face or those to whom you give the completed projects.

Teeny Tiny Mochi MochiTeeny Tiny MochiMochi features fun, witty, irresistibly tiny knitting patterns to make as gifts for friends, cute accessories and decorative items. The book includes 40 super-cute, humorous patterns for miniature toys, plus techniques for tiny knitting; ideas for using the tiny knits as wearables, decorations and gifts; and instructions on how to convert a pattern for a tiny project into a bigger toy.  Little Crochet

Little Crochet brings modern colors and fun-to-work stitch patterns to the pint-sized crowd with this cute collection of adorable designs that includes tiny sweaters, dresses, pants, and accessories. Although simple to make, author Linda Permann is sure to keep your attention through her exploration of a range of construction techniques, including top-down cardigans, side-to-side sweater vests, motif-based yokes, and traditional seaming. Sizes ranging from 0-4+ years are included, so you can keep crocheting as the little ones in your life grow.

Little Leg Warmers Picture

A hip alternative to pants, leg warmers are perfect for layering without getting in the way of diaper changes. Pulll over baby's knees when crawling, then wear below the knees when baby becomes an expert walker. Use leftovers for wild stripes or choose a solid color (dark so they don't show dusty floors?) and make a pair for every outfit.
