VOGUE Knitting Live in New York City

Vogue Knitting Live show

About a month ago I was lucky enough to attend Vogue Knitting Live  in NY.  It was a smashing, sell-out success, with more than 250 classes, taught by over 50 of the most talented teachers.  How incredible is that! But wait...there's more! There was a boutique-style market, with tons of incredible yarn and accessories, live fashion shows, demonstrations and a special gallery area filled with knit and crochet artwork (more on that below).  I'm told more than 6,000 people braved the cold to attend this special event.

Brett, Drew , Kristin and Maggie (we missed you Robyn) attended as well, and it was amazing the number of people who recognized the crew from Knit and Crochet Now . Lots of dedicated viewers stopped us in the aisles to give very positive feedback. So thanks for that-- we really appreciate knowing you guys care.

If you missed the NY event, not to worry.  There is going to be a Vogue Knitting Live in LA this September.  For more information click here www.vogueknittinglive.com.  To see more from the show visit our blog.  -Candi

Twist on a Trend... Faux Fur Stole to Knit or Crochet!

faux fur collar to crochet or knit

This past fall I was looking through the J Crew catalog, one of my favorites, and I noticed these eye catching little stoles or as they call them "tippets". I was smitten but by the time I got myself to the computer to order they were sold out.  Never one to give up on an idea I decided I could try my hand at making my own version of a stole and of course then, I wanted to share it with you.

Above is my version of the stole and below are pictures of my inspiration. The patterns are easy and worked in Fun Fur. (Yes, I think Fun Fur is making a comeback!) Knit and crochet versions of the pattern are available for free at Knit and Crochet Now.  Enjoy!
