Free Films at Annenberg Theater
The Palm Springs Art Museum will offer free films in its Annenberg Theater. The first ten films will be the 2012 Global Lens series of films, organized by the Global Film Initiative. This series showcases films from countries not typically associated with film making, and features young and upcoming directors. This year, the Global Lens series includes films from Albania, Argentina, Brazil, Columbia, Iran, Iraq, Morocco, Turkey, and Rwanda.
Following these ten foreign films, the museum has teamed up with the Palm Springs International Film Society to offer five Classic Comedies. The museum is open on Thursday nights with free admission between 4-8 p.m. and is always 75 degrees, which offers a great way to stay cool while enjoying high quality films. more info...

Creedence Clearwater Revisited
Stu Cook and Doug "Cosmo" may not have intended it, but their band Creedence Clearwater Revisited has taken on a startling life of its own. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame rhythm section (bass and drums respectively) from the legendary group Creedence Clearwater Revival launched the Creedence Clearwater Revisited project in 1995 to once again perform live Creedence Clearwater Revival hits touchstones of a generation. Though the pair initially only planned to play private parties, Creedence Clearwater Revisited now performs up to 100 shows a year.

Small Business Owner Gives Back to Community and Collects 2,000 Pounds of Food in Three Months
"We've had such a public outpouring of food donations," Kelly Russum, president, KC's 23 1/2 Hour Plumbing Inc., says. "We donate all of the food to Martha's Village & Kitchen and they help to distribute to those people in need. However, we always need more. The more the public gets involved, the more food we have to help those people right in our own backyard."
Jimmica Guess, Community Relations Manager for the Mission Advancement Team at Martha's Village & Kitchen, explains that the food boxes are used for distribution through the emergency services department.
"There are many people at the poverty level in the community who will need assistance with food from time to time. We provide them with enough food for three to four days for whatever number of people they have in their family," Guess says. "They can receive one box every 60 days."
Products in the food boxes include items such as canned meats, soups, grains, cereal and peanut butter.
