Murder & Mirth Movies with Peter Lorre
The City of Rancho Mirage Public Library is presenting Murder and Mirth: Movies with Peter Lorre.
The Monday afternoon programs will feature films which showcase the talents of actor Peter Lorre, who portrayed everything from menacing murderousness to merry mirth. The programs will also feature discussion and trivia, led by Jason Bruecks, General Manager of the Camelot Theatres. Free refreshments will be provided.

Comedy at Annenberg Theater
Reaction Marketing presents two special evenings. Beloved comedian Leslie Jordan, 2006 Emmy Award Winner for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Comedy Series for his delicious portrayal of "Beverley Leslie" on "Will and Grace," will team up with and Pam Ann and Lady Bunny for two special nights of hilarity. On Oct. 7, Leslie will perform with drag persona Pam Ann, "hostess to the stars and beyond." Glamorous, hilarious and outrageous, Pucci-clad Pam Ann recently returned from a 25 date sell-out European tour.
On Oct. 8, Leslie teams up with multi-talented drag artiste Lady Bunny, whose glitzy outfits and sky-high wigs have made her legendary in the performance circuit. Fall Film Series at the Annenberg Theater

The Palm Springs Art Museum presents an encore screening of the popular Global Lens 2009 film series for free on Thursdays in October, November and December in its Annenberg Theater. The series was screened in the summer and will be offered again in the fall for those who missed some of the films or would like to see them again. The Global Lens series consists of ten award-winning feature films from Argentina, Brazil, China, Ecuador, Indonesia, Iran, Kazakhstan, Macedonia, Morocco and Mozambique.

Classic Car Show for Desert Charities

Classic Car Show Benefiting Desert Charities Comes to Palm Springs on the grounds of the Indian Canyons Golf Resort South, 1097 East Murray Canyon in Palm Springs. All proceeds will go to three desert charities - Desert AIDS Project, Desert Outreach Foundation, and the Golden Rainbow Center.
A classic 1965 Imperial LeBaron will be given away at the show. Raffle tickets will be available at the Desert AIDS Project, Desert Outreach Foundation and the Golden Rainbow Center for $5 each or five for $20. They will also be available at the show, and the winner does not need to be present to win. "We are expecting more than 150 classic, exotic and special interest vehicles to be showcased on the golf course green."

Art In Public Places - Time Capsule Opening

In 1991, the City installed its first piece of public art in Civic Center Park through Palm Desert's newly created Art in Public Places program. Artist Michael Anderson was commissioned to create Desert Dessert, a sculpture containing a time capsule holding items contributed by community members that was to be opened 20 years later. The time has come to open the capsule. Join City officials and individuals who contributed items at this revealing event. Light refreshments will be served.
