Lynnette Ward Graduates from Gwinnett Neighborhood Leadership Institute
GNLI Graduation
From L-R, Quintin Winston, Keith Fenton, Congressman John Lewis, Daryl Knight, Kate Bass, Lynnette Ward, Monica Federson

A heartfelt congratulation goes out to our very own Lynnette Ward, a recent graduate of the Gwinnett Neighborhood Leadership Institute. This is the 17th graduating class who has operated under the direction to "train and empower everyday citizens to become active leaders in the community." Lynnette not only serves as our Community Resource Director, but has put in countless hours on GNLI community initiatives this year. Rainbow Village CEO Nancy Yancey shares, "We are so very proud of Lynnette and her accomplishments. She is so dedicated and not only loves Rainbow Village, but also wants to give back to the community she says has given her so much."

Special Rainbow Village Friend
Evan Hall, a 5th Grader at Chattahoochee Elementary School in Duluth, was presented with a unique challenge at Christmas. Evan has a Cub Scout Rank: Webelos 2 - Pack 420 / Den 6 - and is based at Duluth First United Methodist Church. The challenge: his Grammy & Pop Pop gave him $40.00 for Christmas, 2011 (as they did to all 11 of their grandchildren) and asked that he determine where the money could do the most good. Evan's family drove him up and down Highway 120 a lot... he saw the new campus several times a week and decided that the money would help a Rainbow Village kid more than it would help him. Let's all aspire to be like Evan and make the world a better place!

Rainbow Village Wins Coveted

It's Spring Break Time!
April 2-6 is Spring Break and our Rainbow Village children are gearing up for a whole lot of fun. They will enjoy special "Cereal Bars," go to the movies, play putt-putt golf, play in the park, go bowling and play laser tag. It almost makes you want to be a kid again. We'd like to thank the North Gwinnett Interact Club for volunteering to help out with our kids this week.
