Volunteer Recognition

Nancy receiving check from PCOM repRainbow Village extends a warm thank you to PCOM (The Graduate Student Council of Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine) for hosting a road race to support Rainbow Village as well as for the school supplies they collected for our children and youth.

We would like to thank Barnes & Noble for donating a whopping $10,000 in books and other materials to Rainbow Village. Our adults and children are thrilled to be receiving these supplies and they are a great addition to the Rainbow Village Library.

Tina Martin with Pleasant Hill Presbyterian Church deserves special recognition for organizing a much needed school supply drive for Rainbow Village.

Children's Restoration Network graciously donated new backpacks to Rainbow Village. If you're the parent of school aged children, you know how quickly these can wear out, get lost, or just go out of style!

Walmart in Duluth deserves a very special thank you for allowing us to purchase new booster seats at a good price for our many Rainbow Village children who are still required under state law to be in a booster seat. Thank you to General Manager, Darlene.

Thank you to Steve Glass Photography who has stepped up and agreed to provide our graduating senior resident a complimentary senior portrait package.

Perimeter Church, as part of their Serve and Learn Program, organized and staffed Big Recess for us on February 16. An ice cream sundae bar was enjoyed by all!

Akzo Nobel, one of our most faithful partners, donated much needed gift cards for our residents. These cards are used to supplement mileage and uniform requirements and emergency needs for residents.

Rotary Legacy Project
Thank you to the Duluth Rotary Club for hosting a wonderful Night of Texas Hold'em & Bingo. The benefit raised money for Rainbow Village children to attend summer camp as well as exposed Rotarians to the delights of one nine-year old resident of Rainbow Village . . . David. Read his speech that he wrote and presented at the event on his experience at camp this past summer. "I liked the camp because it was full of fun and activities. From the counselors to the games it was full of opportunities to experience new ways of life and inspiration from the counselors. It was packed with excitement and awesome games, and activities every second. And when everything was dull and boring, that's when the cool and superior Mrs. Kathy came in with her peppy attitude and her joyful smile. You could never be sad. It was also a good use of our summer and let us interact with other kids our age instead of being cooped up in a house all day. And if anyone asks, yes it's a great use of time."

Judy, Jenn, and Karen enjoyh a night of comedy
The Gwinnett Rotary Club hosted a Night of Comedy with comedian Pat Dixon on February 14 to raise funds to support the Rotary Legacy Project for the Education/Recreation/Day Care Facility at the new Village. The evening was a huge success and enjoyed by all.
