Chocolate Party Anyone?

How would you like to come to a chocolate tasting party and sample different kinds of chocolates that are good for you and won't make you gain fat? Well, I'm thinking about throwing a tasting party at the Alki club on Friday, 1/22 at 7 pm, and one at the Kirkland club on Sunday, 1/24 at 7 pm. I just need to know how many would be interested at a price point of $14 per person, so please email me back and let me know if you would be able to come.

The Big Climb is Coming Up!
Start your training today for the 69 floor climb up the Columbia tower on March 21st! We dominate this every year of course, and would love for you to be part of the X Gym team! Don't worry about being slow either, because they only take the fastest 3 times to calculate the team time.

Benefiting the fight against Leukemia and Lymphoma is a great cause to train for, and a wonderful way to keep your New Year's fitness resolution going. It's a fantastic way to lose fat too, so if you are in the Biggest Loser competition, this can give you an edge! Contact me if you are interested in your own custom training routine, and sign up at bigclimb.org today!

Train Your Brain:
Did you read the blog and get your brain geared up for your New Year's fitness resolution? Changing your identity is the only way for lasting results. You can always lose fat temporarily, but keeping it off means thinking differently for the rest of your life. This is easier than you think, and only requires some consistency, so get started today!

Your suggestion for this issue is to practice contentment. Find 2 things each day you are content about. This can be your car, an ability, a relationship, your dog, or anything really. More about this next time...

Thanks,

P.S. If you can't sign up for the Biggest Loser contest by Thursday, don't fret. You can sign up late, but just remember, the longer you wait, the less time you have to make progress! Check it out at the Alki or Kirkland club, or go to the contest info page for more info!

"Stop and smell the roses" now has scientific backing.
Roses -- as well as lavender, basil, and lemon contain a special compound called linalool, which reduces anxiety when it hits your nose. Lower anxiety also means less emotional eating and more ease of application with your brain training exercises!

Help your kids bust stress for better adult health.
In a recent study, teens who reported various negative interpersonal interactions had resulting stress that was associated with higher levels of an inflammatory marker called C-reactive protein, which has been identified as an indicator for the later development of cardiovascular disease.
