Greetings!
If you want to get lean fast, eat the three foods listed below. These are the top NEGATIVE FAT foods, which means the more you eat, the leaner you get!
 
1.) Broccoli. There are many ways to prepare broccoli, so even if you don't like it, you can still find a way to eat it. There is a great broiled broccoli recipe on the X Gym website's recipe page. You can also steam it, make soup out of it, put it in a salad, and the list goes on!
2.) Kale can be used in salads, soups, or just steamed. Did you know that you can also make chips out of kale? Check out this recipe for a yummy substitute to replace your favorite potato or corn chip!.
3.) Meat. It has to be clean though! Fish has to be wild from pure waters (like Alaska), fowl must be organic free range, and red meat must be grass fed or wild. Other meats are often positive fat foods, so make sure you know what you are eating!

Don't worry if you don't like these foods. There are more negative fat foods that will be listed in future newsletters.

Brain Training: Remember my suggestion in the last newsletter to warm your hands with your brain? Did you notice how calming that was? It also teaches you how to speed up your metabolism with your thoughts. It's pretty incredible that you can change your whole metabolism with what's between your ears!

This week's brain training exercise is to think back to your most powerful moment - a time when you were unstoppable. Now give that person a name (other than your real name of course). The next time you are feeling unmotivated to eat right or workout, ask yourself, "What would ______ (your new name) do?" Then, become that person for a moment and you will find it easier to follow through. More on this in the next newsletter...

Is Margarine Poisoning You?
Margarine is actually more like plastic than food. Manufacturers heat vegetable oils to extremely high temperatures to change their molecular structure. Then, they add nickel or aluminum and hydrogen atoms to make it a solid mass, and chemicals and preservatives to prevent it from rotting. Deodorants and dyes are then needed to mask the awful odor and ugly gray color. Margarine is also loaded with trans fatty acids, which are linked to heart disease, heart attacks, strokes, cancer and more. Did you know that flies won't even land on margarine? They thoroughly enjoy spending all day on your dog's poop, but margarine is way too gross for them! These trans fats will kill you, so stick with organic olive oil, coconut oil, or pasture butter for optimum health.

Lose 20 Pounds a Year Just by Eating More Slowly
Research shows that people who slow down at meal time lose weight big time! We talked about this in our brain training workshop last Saturday, and even practiced it in real time over a gourmet fat burning dinner. The workshop was a sellout and a huge success, so stay tuned for the announcement on the next one!
