Pharmaceutical Grade Supplements

There are three different grades of raw materials used in products:
Pharmaceutical Grade - meets pharmaceutical standards; Food Grade - meets standards set for human consumption; and Feed Grade - meets standards set for animal consumption. The difference between each grade type is one of quality and purity. The FDA allows questionable fillers, dyes and binders to be present in the manufacturing of supplements. Reports have indicated that some of these ingredients can be toxic at certain levels with prolonged use. Surprisingly, the FDA does not currently monitor the contents or purity of a supplement nor the source of a nutritional ingredient. However, if a product is deemed pharmaceutical grade, the product must be 98% pure with no binders, fillers, dyes, or unknown substances. New Performance Nutrition is a firm believer in the purity of nutritional products and supplements, which is why our products are pharmaceutical grade. You can trust that your body and health will be in good hands with our products.
The Importance of Protein
Protein is the most widely utilized nutrient by the body and the most under-consumed in the average person's diet. Protein has numerous functions in the human body. It repairs the body's cells, builds and repairs muscles and bones, provides energy and aids the body's metabolism. The greatest source of protein comes from animal products, the best coming from fish and poultry. However, great benefits come from Whey Protein. Whey is the purest and most complete protein with rich amounts of all the essential amino acids, which is why it is so easy to digest and so quickly absorbed and utilized by the body. Whey protein aids in weight-loss by stabilizing blood glucose levels which in turn reduces hunger, making it easier for the body to burn fat. Whey Protein assists the muscles by replenishing depleted levels of amino acids and allowing the body to repair and rebuild lean muscle tissue. Protein is also important in a healthy diet to reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease. With such a vital role, you should never find yourself protein deficient. Make sure you are eating well-balanced meals that include a substantial amount of protein (between 4 -6 oz) and toss in a delicious Whey shake for breakfast or after your workout for quick relief.
Keep Yourself Hydrated
There's no question that the brilliant sunshine and extra long days draw more people outdoors during the summer months. Unfortunately, outdoor activities during the warmer season often place people at serious risk of dehydration. People at highest risk of dehydration are children, athletes, exercisers, outdoor workers and the elderly.  Dehydration occurs when the amount of water leaving the body is greater than the amount being taken in. While it is vital to replenish your body with water during the hot months, many people also don't realize that you lose minerals, such as sodium, chloride and potassium, when you sweat. These minerals are known as electrolytes. Electrolytes are vital to health and control tissue function and movement. They can be replenished through sports drinks (which are ok because they usually contain sugar) or through packets of Electromix (which are great because they have no added sugars). Keep yourselves hydrated as it starts to warm up!
Why You Could Benefit From L-Glutamine
Glutamine is the body's most abundant amino acid and makes up 61% of skeletal tissue. With such a vital role in the body's infrastructure, everyone from the professional athlete to the stay-at-home Mom should always maintain a high level of glutamine in their body. L-Glutamine is a pure supplement designed to keep your Glutamine levels at their optimum. Taking L-Glutamine benefits the immune system, oxidation of blood, preservation of muscle, overall health of the intestinal system, quickens injury recovery, and strengthens mental awareness and memory.
Healthy Traveling!
If you're planning on taking a vacation anytime soon, remember your nutrition requires just as much preparation as packing the suitcase. When you travel away from home, eating healthy food can be a challenge. You may not have the variety of nutritional options that you have at home. Plan ahead and decide what you are going to eat. If you're going camping you can pack items like fruits and canned meats and vegetables which don't require refrigeration yet are also nutritious and will keep you energized while enjoying outdoor activities. If you're going on a road trip make sure you bag some healthy snacks for you and your kids. Avoid stops at fast food locations. Keep yourself hydrated. Be aware of amusement parks, which are full of enticing fat foods that have poor nutritional value. If you're traveling by air, humidity is around 10-15% so drink water or juice whenever it is offered to you to avoid dehydration. If you keep yourself hydrated and eating healthy, you are bound to feel great and have an enjoyable vacation!
