History of Jewish Federation of Greater Buffalo
Presented by Ellen Goldstein, Marketing & Community Relations Director Ellen will elaborate on the history and activities of our local chapter. Below is their mission: The Buffalo Federation seeks to bring Jewish people together, connected by our rich heritage, to strengthen our community's local organizations, programs and services as well as the State of Israel and the universal Jewish family. "Our Federation is a fundraising, community relations, advocacy and planning resource organization. We are committed to the survival and enrichment of Jewish living and to the values of social justice, caring and compassion that transform lives and help heal the world."

History of Jazz featuring Kimberly King-Glover
Referred to as "America's classic music," jazz is one of North America's oldest and most celebrated musical genres. Lois Armstrong, Miles Davis, Ella Fitzgerald and Billie Holiday are a few of the celebrated jazz musicians to learn about. Kimberly has an amazing voice and promises to treat us to a few musical numbers as well. Kimberly King-Glover is a passionate jazz lover and prepared this presentation especially for this series. Kimberly is a familiar face and voice at Weinberg. Kimberly is one of the teachers at the Head Start program located on Campus.

"A Palace for Buffalo" featuring Shea's Buffalo Theater
Presented by Rich Newberg, Senior Correspondent WIVB (Channel 4) and
Co-producer of numerous award winning documentaries.
This 2006 Emmy Award winning documentary features one of the countries grandest theaters. The rich history of downtown Buffalo's prominent Shea's Theater is reviewed. The presentation allows the audience to revisit the era of great movie palaces. Rich takes us behind the scenes to learn about Shea's past, present and future as restorations continue.
