Greetings!
The organizers of the "2011 Ador-A-Bulldog" Calendar contest would like to extend an invitation to submit your best bulldog photographs for a contest to select the Most Ador-a-Bull BULLDOGS to appear in the 2011 bulldog calendar. *
Profits from the annual Ador-A-Bulldog calendar will go to support bulldog rescue programs across the United States.
You are invited to submit up to three of your favorite bulldog photographs during an entry period over the next 4 weeks, July 1 - July 31, 2010.
We want to find wonderful bulldogs for our "2011 Ador-A-Bulldog" rescue calendar - and you can help! |
Compete for Prizes, Honors & Awards
Your bulldog photograph(s) will be entered to win over $2,500 in prizes donated by many bulldog supportive businesses, as well as numerous honors and awards.
Top vote winner can choose a gift certificate for $250 to PetSmart Stores or the ability to donate $500 to their favorite bulldog rescue. For second and third place winners, there are $100.00 and $50.00 gift certificates.

| Photograph Submissions Starting July 1, 2010
Can't make up your mind about the best photograph to submit? Don't worry, we are allowing up to three (3) separate photos per email address to be entered during the official photo submission window starting July 1, 2010 and ending July 31, 2010. Since you are on our preferred mailing list, you can enter as soon as June 30, 2010.
Photos must:
1. Have at least one bulldog clearly in the photograph.
2. Must be in good taste (as determined by the judges). Please remember this is a family calendar.
3. No human faces discernable, as this is all about the bulldog.
4. No kennel names or advertisement.
*Entrants who are unable to provide a 300 dpi or higher, high-resolution photo that meet the above specifications within 7 days of notification will be disqualified for calendar publication, and a replacement photo for the calendar will be chosen - the replacement photo will have the honor of appearing in the calendar but will not be eligible for the other prizes. Original winners will still be eligible for prizes, even if their photos are not of the requisite high resolution. |
| On-line Voting Starts August 1, 2010
Starting August 1, 2010 though August 31, 2010, you and supporters will be allowed to vote for up to five (5) separate photograph entries once every 24 hours to help select the top bulldog finalists.
Be forewarned, choosing 5 bulldogs out of all these beautiful bulldogs won't be an easy task and voting every day is important to be sure your favorite bulldog is one of the finalists to be reviewed by the judges.
Also be aware that cheaters will be eliminated. IP and email addresses will be checked for verification if "stuffing of the ballot box" is suspected. Those bulldogs photos associated with cheating will quietly be removed from consideration. Please, think twice before you or anyone you know tries to cheat. This is supposed to be fun for everyone! |
Who is eligible to enter and win?
This contest is open to all bulldogs, regardless of pedigree, status as family pet or show dog; no preference is given to rescue dogs.
Who votes?
You, your friends, family and supporters can vote. Remember to invite and remind them to vote once a day for you and other bulldogs in the contest.
What does it 'take' to be a calendar dog?
To be considered a candidate for the calendar, we ask that entry be limited to BULLDOGS commonly referred to as English or British Bulldogs. While we feel all dogs are special, there is limited space in any calendar and judges will be looking for photos that best represent the spirit of the breed and capture the charm of the bulldog breed.
About this years calendar?
The calendar is going to be a full color "2011" wall calendar consisting of 12 months measuring 11" x 8.5" when folded, and hanging on the wall opening to 11" x 17". This is a standard size calendar common in most offices and homes. The calendar will include bulldogs first selected by popular vote from all the contest entries with judges reviewing the finalists to determine the winners. (REMEMBER: IF YOUR PHOTO IS CHOSEN BUT IS NOT AVAILABLE IN HIGH-RESOLUTION, 300 DPI OR HIGHER, IT CANNOT APPEAR IN THE CALENDAR). The profits from the calendar sale will go to benefit bulldog rescue programs.
Why all this?
This is suppose to be fun for everyone that enters to show off their own bulldog and compete for prizes.
We want everyone to see that despite where a bulldog comes from, their age, pedigree or color, they are all really the same in the end and each is beautiful in their own special way.

We are bulldog rescue organziers and volunteers working towards a day when there are no longer bulldogs waiting for rescue or waiting for homes of their very own.
Our mission (and passion) is to help get homeless pets out of the shelters and into loving homes. |
We take fairness very seriously and well aware that where there is a will there is a way for some to try to skew or circumvent the voting process. At our discretion any of those entries suspected of 'cheating' will be removed. This includes any entry that cheats directly or a supporter does it for an entry.

Last years calendar.
Did you know last years rescue calendar had over 1,000 bulldog photo submissions that included international contestants.
The finished calendar included the distribution of over 3,000 calendars that were sold by various rescues, vet offices and retailers.
Copies of the '2010 Ador-A-Bulldog' calendars were sold into 46 of the 50 states and copies mailed to 8 countries outside of the United States.
Over 4,800 visitors either submitted votes or photos and followed the contest on a daily basis.
Proceeds went to the Bulldog Club of American Rescue Network and several other bulldog rescue programs. |
