Dear Friends,

Hello and welcome to another issue of the
Informer! There has been quite a lot going on, and we're happy to see lots of new subscribers to our newsletter-so once again-welcome!

We've got lots of great things to share. The season is in full swing and our US sales are keeping consistent 25% increase for the first 1/2 of the year over same period last year. We are very happy about that and we want to thank all of you, both our long time and our brand new Uralistas. We truly couldn't have done it without your enthusiasm and support!

Sales are strong in all of our markets around the world as well. Europe, Australia, Canada, Japan and Russia are all up from last year. The growing demand is a really good thing and it naturally puts pressure on the factory to increase production. Our crew in Irbit has been working incredibly hard to crank it up after years of cutting back.

Ilya has been spending lots and lots of time engaging new suppliers and working with the factory to help make things more efficient. This week he is at the factory also meeting with Jon Taylor, our distributor from Australia. It is the first time visit for Jon and he hopes to learn more about the factory, share ideas and bring back first hand knowledge to share with his dealers and customers on the ground. Sales have been very strong down-under and we are happy to see our continuous growth in that market.

On the US dealer network side - we've been serious about filling the voids and have gained quite a few new dealers. We hope to build solid and long-term relationships so that together we can take better care of all of our riders. Kudos to Chuck Schram - our dealer development guy. Feel free to e-mail Chuck with any dealer suggestions in your area.

Jon Bekefy has been working very hard on the PR front and pretty much rebuilt our new website from ground up. You've probably already checked it out by now, but just in case you haven't be sure to visit the new site and take a look around especially the blog and media sections, as Jon routinely updates those with new material. We appreciate all the positive feedback we've received as well. Once summer is over, and things slow down (although they never really do), we'll be doing more to make sure your online Ural experience is as good as it can be.

The last but not the least, we want to thank all of our incredible enthusiasts that share their love for Ural with everyone around, which sometimes even gets into the mainstream media... like the Travel Channel or CNN HLN or one of the top online mags like Gear Patrol!

Check out these videos; they are great stories supplemented by great visuals in addition to just being very, very cool. :-)

Happy summer riding and be safe!

From the Factory Floor

One of the greatest things about a company like Ural, is that we all get to watch the bike change, and the company grow. Anyone who says that this bike hasn't changed in years isn't being honest with themselves. The Ural factory and more importantly the bikes change and progress, much like the rest of motorcycle market. We're continually making improvements and refining our products so that we can all continue to enjoy the ride. It is a fantastic feeling to be a part of this continued story and we hope that you all remain a part of this family for as long as possible.

With that said - a lot of Ural is still built by hand and there is a lot of love put in every one of them.
Check out this clip that Ilya brought from his last trip to the factory: Labor of Love

Pictured above is a Gobi Desert Gear-Up with a new prototype windscreen. We're also working on some other interesting products, so stay tuned, visit often, and thanks once more for the support.

Cycle World's Ural M70 Review

The most fun you can have on three wheels, and sometimes two.

M70 Feature
The staff at Cycle World magazine wrote an article sharing their opinion of 10 motorcycles with an over abundance of soul and character. Our M70 made the cut! Read the article as Blake Connor discovers UDF, or as he describes it, "Russian tractor-beam" and check out the stunning photos.

On Historic Route 66
One man's adventure aboard an orange and silver 2012 Patrol.

Ural on Route 66
Bill has been planning this trip for twenty years. While the voyage may have just ended, you can read about the trip in its entirety on his blog. Sounds like the route, Bill, and the Ural were all co-stars in an epic adventure.
