Greetings! You are probably as excited as we are about the arrival of spring and great riding weather. Before you take your first ride, just quickly check these four items. It has been a long winter for your bike as well, just 'hanging' in your garage. If you have any problems, we are here to help. We want you to have fun out there on your bike! Happy Riding, Pat, Yves, Jon, Mark, Kevin, Phil, Weston, Val, Gysele
P.S. If you or your child has 'outgrown' his or her bike, please donate it to our Bikes4Kids charity. We will refurbish it and get it out to a needy child.

1. Pump up your tires If you have not pumped up your tires since last fall, then, yes, they will need some air. Correctly inflated tires give you a smoother, easier (and more fun) ride. A floor pump makes this job so much faster! For more info on the 3 different types of pumps, click here.

2. Check your seat
Does it need tightening? Is it comfortable? Is it at the correct height for you? We have a wide selection of men and women specific saddles. Gel padding and full suspension springs may be just what you need!
Here is how to find a comfortable bike seat. |
3. Snap on your helmet
Did you buy your helmet before 2006? Your helmet's ability to absorb impact degrades over time, so it's best to replace it every 3 to 5 years. The new designs are much more comfortable and easily adjustable. Click here for a video on helmet fit. We have cute helmets for kids, stylish helmets for women, and even helmets for those with larger brains! Check out our great helmet selection today! A new helmet is cheaper than a visit to the emergency room!

4. Check Your Gears
Here is how your gears should work. If your gears do not work smoothly, your bike probably needs a tune up. Our tune ups include: wheel truing; brake and derailleur adjustment; headset, derailleur, bottom bracket and hub bearing check; lubrication; top off tires; safety inspection. |
