| The Board Room: Meet Lorraine Lazarine-McCarty |

I am so pleased to serve on the Orange County 2-1-1 Board of Directors as Secretary. As a field representative for Assembly Member Jose Solorio serving in Anaheim, Garden Grove and Santa Ana, I have seen firsthand the needs in our communities and how 2-1-1 Orange County has made an impact on neighbors in my communities. 2-1-1 is more than a phone number, more than just data on services-- this organization impacts real families in Orange County.
Prior to starting my term as Board Member, my knowledge of 2-1-1 was fairly limited, but I knew it was a nonprofit organization that provides incredibly valuable and empowering information to people who are in need of help. Sometimes people need direction in an crisis situation, or emergency assistance because their situation in life has become desperate. 2-1-1 Orange County is a telephone call away – there to offer important information about where and how to find the help they need. I encourage you to learn for yourself the value of 2-1-1 Orange County by visiting our website, www.211oc.org/getinvolved.
