Discover the islands like a pro!
Seaplane photo - Don Hebert Photography Island-hopping - 5 easy tips

1 - Check your status.  All travelers who enter non-U.S. countries such as Grenada and the British Virgin Islands, must present proof of citizenship in the form of passports or passport cards (the latter for land and sea travel only)... even infants and children need passports.  Be prepared to show picture ID at any port;  keep your ID handy!  St. Thomas, St. John and St. Croix are in the United States Virgin Islands, and no passport is required for U.S. citizens and lawful permanent residents traveling to this U.S. territory.  See also:  Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative Special Circumstances for travel requirements.

2 - Take it light.  There is no need to discover every single nearby island in one stay...there are scores of islets and cays to explore.  Start with just one which offers a feature you'll enjoy, like hiking trails or an exceptional dive location.

3 - Use us!  We're here to help!  Your island managers (we and our various colleagues) live here and will offer guidance on ferries, seaplanes, and private charters to get to your daytrip destination with minimal hassle and guesswork.  Our Concierge will provide current information and make reservations if needed, for all that you want to do.

4 - Think comfort.  Sunscreen is very important for all skin hues.  Hats with wide brims, visors and sunglasses will increase your protection.  Wear lightweight clothing in white or light colors and sturdy footwear.  Bring along water to drink, and give the same attention to your children.

5 - Tune in.  You're on vacation, but you will be among people who are going about their daily lives.  A pleasant greeting such as "good morning" or "good afternoon" is the best way to get the attention you need to ask a question on the fly, and you may even make a new friend or discover your next vacation spot!

Why we're special
McLaughlin Anderson Luxury Villas President Nancy Anderson
Nancy Anderson
We really are villa experts
We live in the islands, but it takes much more than that to become an villa rental and management expert.  Our company was established in 1985 by happy accident.  We began renting out homes for sale as a way to defray maintenance, improvement and upkeep costs, and soon creating spectacular Caribbean luxury villa vacations became a way of life.

We know our villa and island managers personally, and regularly tour our properties so that we have come to know them inside and out! Our amazing support team now spans 6 islands (and one adorable cay).

Over the years, we've developed a soft knowledge base called Planning a Flawless Villa Experience (PDF download) that's been shared countless times.  You may also check out our list of Frequently-Asked Questions (FAQs) to acquaint yourself with villa life.

See you soon!
