We recently returned from the DEMA Show in Orlando. Brian and I were surprised with awards from International Training (parent company of SDI, TDI, and ERDI). We both received a very nice plaque for "Top Performing Facility 2011".
We saw many new products. One of the most useful are two different tank bands that should eliminate those dreaded slipping bands. I brought home one version to try out. Stop in and take a look. We also found a supplier of higher-quality latex dry suit seals and the prices aren't any more than we have been paying. We're picking up the Henderson and NeoSport wetsuit line. Henderson is one of the oldest and most respected wetsuit manufacturers in the business. We took a close look at the GEM semi-closed circuit rebreather. It's a simple, safe mechanism that extends your air supply to three times normal. It's a bit pricey, so don't know if we'll ever do anything with it. The new SeaLife 1400 cameras are now shipping. They are 14 megapixel and shoot HD video. There are also some new, useful features. We can now purchase a new system of dry suit dry gloves. They are awesome! We will be bringing in a new line of pneumatic spearguns. Also, you can now purchase a tiny video camera and a bracket to mount it under your speargun. How cool would that be to shoot video of your hunt! All in all, it was a productive show to attend. We have a great trip booked for February, 2013. More details will follow later.
See you in the water!
Sincerely, Ron Johns Heartland Scuba Center 308-237-7943/800-344-DIVE |
