Adventure News from Heartland Scuba CenterJuly 2011

Greetings!

Treasure Dive

Our twenty-second annual Treasure Dive is coming up next month--August 14.

Note that we have changed it to a one-day event on Sunday only.  For the last two years, with the cost of everything going up, there was almost nothing left to donate to DAN.  So, we had make some changes to reduce our expenses.  After all, the real purpose of the Treasure Dive is to raise money for a good cause.

First, we changed it to a one day event so more people could commit one day to it. (A lot of people just couldn't squeeze in a whole weekend of diving and fun.)

Second, by not having the Saturday night dinner at the lake, that will cut one of the major expenses for the dive.

We hope these changes will allow us to have a lot of money left over to donate to a great organization--the Divers Alert Network.  Note that we will still have all the same events and have just as many prizes.  Everything will just be compacted into one day.

  See you in the water!

Lake Oahe
August 19-21, 2011

Lake Oahe Fish

I've been wanting to do this for a long time and we finally got it organized.  We plan to hunt Walleye and Buffalo on Saturday and dive the tailrace below the power plant on Sunday (unless everyone wants to hunt both days.)

If you want to go, you need to get a $50 deposit in as soon as possible since space on the boat is limited.

Bonaire
February 18-25, 2012

Bonaire Sunset

Join us for a return trip to the island of Bonaire next February.  Imagine diving and enjoying the clear, warm water teeming with life instead of shoveling snow and suffering from the cold and cabin fever here at home.

We only have four spots left, so if you'd like to go, you need to let us know right away.  Our 2010 trip there was so much fun, with such great diving, that we decided to do it again.  We got some great pricing on the hotel and pretty good pricing on the airfare, so the trip is quite reasonable.
