From the nest

Greetings!

Back in March, I quoted Mark Twain. This month, we celebrate Father's Day, I felt it prudent to repeat the quote:
fishing
"When I was a boy of fourteen, my father was so ignorant I could hardly stand to have the old man around. But when I got to be twenty-one, I was astonished by how much he'd learned in seven years."

Having reached age 48 and with daughters of my own, I realize I'm in that middle world - where I'm still my father's son and at the same time, my daughters' father.

My dad's a veteran, electronics engineer, designer, holder of patents and somewhere along the line, he got his doctorate in stubbornness. He wears a shirt that says: "The longer you complain, the longer God lets you live". We kind of figure that God's afraid he'll try and make some changes up there, so for now, he's left to make his mark right here.

We didn't always see eye-to-eye. In fact, sometimes the glass was half full and others, half empty. It all depended on which side of the argument seemed right at the time. But he taught me life's lessons like a handshake and your word is greater than a contract. But more importantly, he taught me: Sincerity, Honesty and above all, Integrity. I've built my life around those traits and I'm proud of that.

So, for all you dads out there, Happy Father's Day! You've driven us crazy at times, but you're our dads...and that's something we're very proud of.

Love, your sons and daughters...

Robert

 Learning to Fly

Time is just flying by and I've realized that my goal of sending out the monthly "Sales and Specials" newsletter has gotten off track. So rather than dwell on my failure, I'm going to dust my goal off and start again. (It may not be a bad idea to check in on all of those New Year's goals and see how we're doing.)

Check your e-mail for our specials around the 15th of each month. I've decided to give each issue a theme to make is a little more fun for me to write and you to read. The specials will run for 30 days, so make sure you take advantage of them. This month's issue will be called "It's a SHORE thing" featuring items for the summer season at the beach. Now is the perfect time to think about these items so you will have them in hand by the 4th of July summer kick-off.

See you in 15 days!!!!!

Free Networking?

That's right. After 23 years in business helping companies from colleges to plumbers to electricians to hospitals, Peregrine Associates has a large network of professionals to choose from when it comes to services we need ourselves! In fact, so many, that our own clients call on us when they need a builder or even someone to do some woodworking.

So we decided to provide a list of our clients on our website making it even easier to find the service you're looking for. And, it's free!

To have your name and service added, you must be an existing client in good standing. This helps keep the integrity of our list to our high standards. Just click here to be taken to the site and you'll be asked to provide us with some information. That's it...we'll do the rest! And, as our list gets longer and longer, we'll update the pages to make it even easier to browse through. And remember, if you do talk to someone through our networking pages, please let them know you saw them there!!!

Business Cards KOB BC
KOB Installation

A new company with over 25 years of experience, KOB Installation specializes in Metal Roofing and Siding as well as other Exterior Specialty Products.

Using our stock photo house, we were able to find the perfect image of a house under construction showing the roof and siding ready to install. The KOB logo was also created in-house and can be used black and white, in color, as well as full color with special 3D effects.

www.KOBInstllation.com is currently being developed using the same branding as the card you see here. We'll be highlighting the site in an upcoming Flights of the Peregrine newsletter.

In the meantime, if you need metal roofing or siding, give Kevin a call at 267-250-6256 or email him today!

Phoenix Construction - (215) 491-4100Phoenix

Looking to start a direct mail campaign, Phoenix Construction came to us for help in designing the post card, obtaining a current mailing list and handling the mailing itself.

I'm a strong believer in before and after images, especially in construction and remodeling projects. It's great to see what something looked like before these contractors do their magic!

That's easier to accomplish on a website with mouse-over imagery and other special effects -- harder to accomplish on a post card. So we used thumbnails of the before pictures and placed them in the corner.

These are actual photographs of jobs Phoenix Construction has done in the past. As you can see, very impressive!

Check out full size images of these cards on our website!

Oski's Woodworks ~ Specializing in custom organizational furniture

Frank and Michele Orzehoski are building a reputation of quality, custom designed and built organizational furniture. Think of them as the folks that are going to help you clean up your family room's disorder with book shelves, toy chests, bay window seats and so much more.

A visit to their website tells the story. Check out the 'house' at the bottom of the home page. As you mouse over each room, the text to the right changes to show you some of the solutions they can offer you. And, each page has some photographs that are clickable so you can see a larger image.

They're always looking to update their website, so as new photographs become available, using the Content Management System, they'll update the site to keep it fresh!

In the mean time, if you're looking for help with the clutter and insist on better quality furniture than you can get at Ikea or Home Depot, give Frank a call! (267) 474-1868.
Final Thoughts...

Red-Tailed Hawks:
The Franklin Institute's young red-tailed hawks are about to, well, fly the coop! See live video of the nest. As of this morning (6-2-09), you could watch them eat! Don't miss this great, live stream!

Answer to May:

Answer: Ask your old friend to drive the old lady to the town and raise the alarm, while you and your lost love keep each other warm and wait for help to arrive.

Chocolate Calculator!
Try this, it works!!!

DON'T CHEAT BY SCROLLING DOWN FIRST!
It takes less than a minute. Work this out as you read. Be sure you don't read the bottom until you've worked it out! This is not one of those waste of time things, it's fun. Okay, it's a waste of time thing, but it's still fun!

1. First of all, pick the number of times a week that you would like to have chocolate (more than once but less than 10)

2. Multiply this number by 2 (just to be bold)

3. Add 5

4. Multiply it by 50 -- I'll wait while you get the calculator

5. If you have already had your birthday this year add 1759 ..
If you haven't, add 1758.

6. Now subtract the four digit year that you were born.

You should have a three digit number

The first digit of this was your original number (i.e., how many times you want to have chocolate each week).

The next two numbers are YOUR AGE! (Oh YES, it is!!!!!)

THIS IS THE ONLY YEAR (2009) IT WILL EVER WORK, SO SPREAD IT AROUND WHILE IT LASTS.
