Unconditional Love

Wanted Stuffed AnimalIf you have ever had the opportunity to stop by our office in Warrington, it would not be unusual to be greeted by a four-footed friend. Either one of our own two dogs, or a recovering stray from our next door VETS that we are helping "socialize" and get ready for a new home.

Being a pet owner, you know what it is like to feel unconditional love. Having a furry friend waiting to greet you at the door with wild enthusiasm whether you've been gone 2 minutes or 2 hours really can turn your day around.

With Valentine's day right around the corner, I'd like to introduce you to a special program being hosted by the Bucks County VETS called Puppy Love (also for cats and adult dogs)

Calling on Cold Contacts

No, this isn't Cold Case Files, but it sure should be!

When's the last time you called on an old contact you haven't heard from in a while? Research shows the chance to sell to an existing client is 50%, to a lost client 33% and to a new client 12.5%!

For existing clients:
  1. Are they aware of all the services and products you provide? Maybe they've only dealt with one area of your business and you have assumed they are familiar with everything else you do. Never ass-u-me!
  2. Can you cross-sell and/or up-sell other services and products that they need?
  3. Have you looked into new offerings that your current clients are going elsewhere for?

helmetHow about clients you haven't heard from in a few years?
  1. Do you know why you haven't had an order from them for a while? It's okay to ask!
  2. Are you making the assumption there was a problem and you didn't handle it correctly? Maybe a personal visit is all it takes to open the doors once again. But, don't show up empty handed!
  3. Maybe someone new came to the company and didn't have your contact information. How about sending a care package...like a little hard hat with feet and the message: "Now that I've got my feet in the door..."
How much does all this cost - how about a phone call? Remember, you've already established a relationship of trust, so it should be easy to get through. A quick call to catch them up on new offerings is all it takes!

Final thought...

Partnerships. Building partnerships with others in your industry can dramatically increase sales by giving both the opportunity to offer a greater range of services and products you couldn't provide before. In fact, we here at Peregrine have done this in just the past few months and have already increased sales!

Gordon Florist - 215.716.3332

Route 202 & County Line Road ˇ Chalfont

Your local florist, John Gordon has over 25 years experience in the business with daily deliveries of flowers, fruits and other essentials to make sure they have fresh product that can be made to order! And, since they are local, you can pick up or have it delivered - same day if needed!

gordon backThat's what sets Gordon Florist apart from website based options. So that's what we targeted in on when we developed their direct mail campaign, starting with Valentines. The front of the post card has to catch your eye and we accomplished this with photography of a custom arrangement. In fact, all the pictures were taken on location with each flower set made just prior to the photo shoot.

These post cards are 6x9 with postage as standard bulk. So the costs for mailing are kept low. The targeted mailing list had two criteria for the demographics: Business-yearly income of $500,000 to a million; Residential-single family homes with an average yearly income of $100,000 and above. This kept the list in their immediate geographic area to 5,000.

Direct mail campaigns need to be done at least three times, so they will be following up with post cards for Spring/Easter and Administrative Assistant Day. We'll keep you posted!

5th Street Coffee House
5th
One of our favorite logo designs involving photography, illustration and some Photoshop magic!

The 5th Street Coffee House was the project of one of our first website programmers - Brian Loebig. An accomplished musician, he was part of the folk music industry. Looking for a venue for professional and struggling artists to play, he created the coffee house in the basement of a church in Philadelphia. Unfortunately, since his move out of state, the music has been silenced...for now.

#1) Using the a coffee house theme, we set up a photoshoot with all the elements you see here. Of course, there were dozens of photographs to choose from. One trick we used: the 'steam' from the coffee cup is actually smoke from a cigarette!

#2) Next was to create a soft mask around the logo to help blend the text into the photo.

Cabaret

#3) Finding the right font was very important. Here we used Cabaret. It's a perfect match!

#4) Next, we created a background to the text that would build an outlined foundation. This was used to create the copy's drop shadow.

#5) The final step was to add the text. We picked a color that would match the warm theme of the graphic.

Answer: next month!
------------------------------------------------------------
Answer to the last month's fisherman question:

Actually, each fisherman initially paid out $10 = $30. They then each took back $1 leaving $27. They then told the clerk to keep the remaining $2 for a tip, which in the end, equals $25. When you ask the question, you' add the final $2 to the $27 and get $29, when you should really be subtracting it!
