SUCCESS STORIES:  How I Lost The Weight!

There's no doubt about it:  I love my job.

Over the years I've had the opportunity to meet women from all walks of life, all with their own unique challenges and individual life stories, but with one thing in common: a desire to live a healthier lifestyle.  On the occasion that one of them thanks me, or tells me that she's been helped somehow but one of my books or DVDs, I'm genuinely flattered.  I've often said that my motto is to "inspire the best in others," but these women, and their determination to take control of their lives and their health, are definitely the strongest source of inspiration for me.

Whether your goal is to lose two inches or drop fifty pounds, to tone up or stretch out, to raise your metabolism or protect your joints, I think that you, too, will draw some inspiration from these two stories . . .

Meet Chris.
CSmithChris is a mother of three boys living in Massachusetts.  Moms around the world can relate to her story: a few years ago, she hit her highest weight of 235 pounds, and decided she'd had enough.  Her motivation?  Her 40th birthday was just a year away, and she wanted to enter this new decade with the body she deserved. 

Initially Chris dropped 30 pounds simply by dieting - but decided to start
exercising to rev up her weight loss and to get back the energy level she needed to feel good and keep up with her sons.  Needless to say, leaving the house to work out wasn't an option, Group Matrix Coreso she started using my Step Workout DVD three times a week, eventually ramping up to five times a week.

I re-connected with Pam recently and asked her to share three of her tips for losing weight and keeping it off.  Here's what she had to say - straight from the source!

1) Be consistent.  "I exercised at the same time every day and even if I was really tired or not feeling well I did something even if it was only part of an easy workout - I had to maintain the time-slot and routine.  In the beginning I even folded the laundry in that time-slot so as to maintain the routine."
 
2) Plan your meals ahead of time.  "I actually planned the week's meals over the weekend and wrote down what I planned on eating and when.  I would do any preparing necessary for the next days eating the previous evening - make my salad for lunch etc.  This way the decision had already been made."
 
3) Keep workouts fun.  "That's where Kathy helps out - her upbeat and encouraging manner really help, and somehow I really do feel as though I'm working out with a group of friends."
