GIVE YOUR HOLIDAYS - AND YOUR BODY - A REAL 'LIFT'
|
Ah, the holidays. 'Tis the season to eat more and move less. Perhaps you've surrendered to the flurry of holiday parties and decided to "let yourself go." Perhaps you've got no time to make it to the gym. And perhaps your skinny jeans are suddenly too skinny for comfort - or (gulp!) maybe they've been retired completely for the season.
But it's not too late to fight off the extra holiday heft. I'm thrilled to unveil my brand-new DVD, Total Body Lift, just in time for the month of munchies and madness.
This gravity-defying workout will give you the strength, energy and shape of a younger body. The secret is to hone in on specific muscle groups to provide the greatest results in the least amount of time. You'll tone and tighten using a series of small, concentrated muscle movements, strenghten with traditional exercises that involve a full range of motion, and create long, beautiful lines with deep stretches.

PARTY SMARTER ... NOT HARDER! Quick tips to stay on track while you party into the New Year!
- To avoid the holi"daze" that often comes with over-imbibing during this
time of year, set yourself up for success: Don't leave
the house on an empty stomach. Have a small meal that combines fiber
and protein first, to help your body absorb and digest the alcohol. I
love to start with a protein shake - check out my Feed Muscle Shrink Fat book for some delicious recipes.
- Offer to bring an appetizer to your next social event. Choose a tasty and healthy option, like my Cucumber Boat Snackers - they're sure to be a holiday hit.
- Work out before you go out: pop in a DVD, or, if it's an option, bundle up for a brisk walk in the cool weather. You'll feel more energized for the party, and it will help keep your seasonal stress at bay.
- Choose your drinks wisely. Red wine and light beer are often the best options - they're low in calories, as long as you consume them in moderation. Or, if you're going to drink liquor, make sure your "mixer" is something low in sugar and calories. Vodka sodas are always a good bet - and to add some flavor without adding tons of extra calories, try mandarin or citron-flavored vodka with your club soda. And, as always - don't overdo it!
