COOKING HEALTHY WITH SABIANCA

 Delva

Last October, Sabianca Delva, a student at Boston College's Connell School of Nursing, came to Casa Myrna to lead health workshops at our three residential programs. Many of the women she worked with had questions about nutrition. "Over the semester, I noticed that some of the women struggled with healthy eating." says Sabianca, "They would warm up a McDonald's meal or eat a lot of processed foods. Good nutrition was a major issue for them." So Sabianca asked herself, "What can I do?" The answer, it turned out, was "write a cookbook!"

SAY HELLO TO OUR

BOSTON MARATHON TEAM

2012 Boston Marathon Runners

Thanks to our generous partners at the John Hancock Non-profit Marathon Program, four intrepid women will be running the 2012 Boston Marathon on behalf of Casa Myrna. We sat down recently with Amy, Kerry, Amy, and Anne, who are already hard at work training for one of the toughest Marathons in the world. Their advantage? They get to practice along the actual route of the race, heartbreaking hills and all, AND they are running to raise money for a great cause.
