Your Story:
Define you. Explore your interests, values, and passions. Develop your skills.


  • If you are not sure what internships or careers to pursue, get started with a self-assessment tool at the Career Center.
    • The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator
    • The Strong Interest Inventory
  • Discover your passions and combine them into a satisfying internship or career experience through an online tutorial guiding you with questions and resources
  • Search internship programs and industries that fit your interests and goals at the Vault Career library
Your Community:
People you know and have yet to meet.

Tips to build your community over the break:
  • Set-up informational interviews with professionals to learn more about your fields of interest. Make an appointment with the Career Center to learn how to conduct informational interviews. Call 734/ 764-7460 or request an appointment online.

  • Search your relatives and/or friends of the family on LinkedIn to learn about their career paths and follow-up with questions in person.
Your Presentation: 
Practice your pitch. Fine-tune your product.

  • Share your resume with friends and family over the holiday break.  This will demonstrate that you have been thinking about your career.
    • You can use Optimal to build your resume and cover letter.
    • Schedule an appointment at the Career Center to get started or to get feedback on your draft.
  • Use LinkedIn to help you showcase your past experiences and broadcast your current internship and career pursuits.
  • Prepare "your pitch" for connecting with your community to introduce yourself and your skills and interests.

Name Tags Available
Are you planning to be out and about this winter and beyond, attending career and job fairs, conducting informational interviews, etc.?
