Bikes, More Bikes & Beer in WNC
Greetings!
First, thanks for taking the time to read our newsletter. We know everyone is bombarded with emails, facebook posts, texts, and tweets, so we're trying to keep that in mind as we put together our news to share each month. Western North Carolina seems to have been in the spotlight a lot lately. With so many places to ride in WNC (as the locals call it), the great local bike shops, and leading industry manufacturers, our corner of the world was home base for Bike Magazine's annual gear guide issue, The Bible of Bike Tests. We just got our issue in the mail today, so we know what we'll be reading over the weekend. The Asheville Citizen-Times even covered the booming bike business in WNC and snapped a photo of Kevin for this article. And if it couldn't get any better for us, Sierra Nevada Brewing Co. just announced this week that it will open it's East Coast factory here as well. We always knew that beer and bikes make a great pairing. Thanks again, All of us at Suspension Experts

Sale & Service of Cane Creek Double Barrels
As of last year, we became the Authorized Service Center for Cane Creek's Double Barrel (CCDB) shocks in the eastern United States. The CCDB has always been one of our favorites. Because of its truly unique internal structure, it has proven to be one of the most reliable rear shocks on the market while also offering the widest range of tuning...we really like 'em!
In addition to providing warranty service for Cane Creek, we also sell Double Barrels at a competitive price. Plus, every sale is backed with our insider expertise that can get you set up quickly and correctly.
So we're really excited for the first production run of the CCDB Air. This shock is identical to the coil version, except of course, for the spring mechanism. They've been working a long time on this project and we expect to get quite a few riders set up on them. The initial run is expected to sell out quickly, so if you're interested in purchasing one, you'll want to get in touch with us soon. You can email Kevin to get the process started.

New Shop Employee Program We're launching a new shop employee discount program. For our fellow mechanics and bike shop employees who stand behind a bench all day working on bikes, this your chance to have your suspension running top notch like you deserve. All qualified shop employees will get 25% off their invoice. (The fine print: we'll need a copy of a recent pay stub to verify that you're a current, paid employee of a bike shop. After that, you're good to go!) Just fill out our online work order to get started.

How do I schedule service?
We recommend that you start by going to our website and filling out the online work order form. That helps us get your job on the schedule and know what to expect. You'll get an automatic email confirming we received your work order. Apologies for the robo response, but that helps our Technicians work more on your suspension and less on the keyboard.
Once we receive your fork or shock in the shop, the box is opened by one of our Techs and he conducts an initial assessment. At this point, we will contact you via email or phone to let you know that we have your suspension and if there are any special issues with your job. We're currently running a 4-5 business day turnaround time. As soon as your job is complete, we'll contact you to arrange for payment and shipping.
But feel free to call us at 828-255-0205 if you have any questions or if you'd just like to talk to a human. |
Events Icycle, Saturday, January 28: This weekend we're headed out to Fontana, NC for the Icycle race. There's a cross country race starting at 11 am, then a night downhill that begins a half hour after dark. Kevin and Mike will be there for the full event. And we're hoping to see some of our riders with the blue bands on their forks make it to the podium. Keep an eye out for them.
Trail Design Workshop, January 28: While the others are at Icycle, Chris is going to Woody Keen's trail design workshop. Woody is Trail Dynamic's President and posted about it on MTBR. The class is full, but they'll also be doing a trail workday on Sunday, January 29. Pisgah Area SORBA and REI helped organized the workday. See details here.
South East Bike Expo, February 25-26: Next month we're going to the inaugural South East Bike Expo in Conyers, Georgia. Think of it as the Interbike of the east. It's going to be held at the Georgia International Horse Park, home of the 1996 Olympic mountain bike course. Seems like just about everyone is going to be there, so it should be a good time.
