Oceanic launches

Free online computer training

Oceanic Oceanic Worldwide, the acknowledged leader in scuba dive computer technology and innovation, has announced a new program designed to help make Oceanic divers even more comfortable with their new Oceanic computers.

The new "Online Training" program provides a free online computer course for any scuba diver purchasing and registering a select Oceanic computer.

According to Oceanic's Marketing Director Doug Krause, "Divers don't always understand the true power of their dive computers until they get in the water.

This online program is easily the best preparation a diver can receive as they learn about their new Oceanic product. The course is designed to reduce if not eliminate the intimidation factor entirely."

The online program, created by Dive Computer Training, is simple to use and self-paced. It's a complete course with nine individual chapters. The complete course can take up to several hours for the student to review all the options and features.

Users can also select individual sections most applicable to their specific questions or needs. Upon completion of the course, divers can receive a specialty certification from one several certification organizations.

Oceanic dive computers that are included in this first-ever industry program include: Veo 1.0, Veo 2.0, Veo 3.0, Geo 2.0, Pro Plus 2/2.1, VT3 and OC1/OC1-LE

In Memory of

Chris Lecordeur

Chris Tobias Lecordeur
Scubaversity would like to convey our condolences to Dejy Lecordeur at the sad loss of his dad Chris.

Chris and Dejy joined us at Miracle Waters the 11th of March. On the night dive, shortly after the descent, while kneeling on the bus Chris suffered from a massive heart attack and despite everyone's most desperate efforts passed away.

Dejy, the words "I am sorry for you loss" seem hollow and unable to offer any comfort. You are in our prayers for the grace of God to carry you through this very difficult time.  Chris will be remembered forever at Scubaversity and in the hearts of everyone who tried to help that night.

Mother Nature provided the planet Earth with an atmosphere known as air. However she never said that air was the best breathing medium for divers. Here, as in many other fields of endeavor, human beings have used their knowledge of natural law to go one step beyond what nature has provided for them.
