Volunteer in the Spotlight
|
 Doris has volunteered for
more than three years at Compeer,
regularly and consistently providing a friendly voice for more than ten
seniors
with weekly and daily phone calls. Doris is a warm, giving person who never says no when she is
asked to
take on one more lonely senior who needs a friendly voice to chat with. Doris has a wonderful sense of humor
and a beautiful laugh, which brightens the day of so many, including the
Compeer Staff. She has been an
advocate for several of her friends as well as a "Mom" to those who need
a
shoulder to cry on, or a loving ear to listen.

Volunteers Needed!

Marcus is a 10 year old boy who lives in Lackawanna with his mother and sister. He is a smart boy who loves playing outside, drawing and swimming. He does not have a male role model in his life and needs a buddy to hang out with. Gloria
is a 66 year old woman from Amherst whose Compeer friend has recently moved away. Gloria has come a long way with maintaining her good mental health and really needs someone who can be her new friend. She is a real movie buff and hopefully her new friend will enjoy movies as much as she does!
Matt is 26 years old. He is happy, friendly, fun-loving and likes one-on-one time away from his group home. He gets lonely living away from his family and copes with bi-polar disorder. Matt would
like a friend he can look up to and share activities like: playing
Wii, playing catch outside, going out to eat and the movies, playing
basketball, skeeball, singing and window shopping.
