| A Cherry Good Time! | Thank you to Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan for sponsoring our entry into the 2010 Cherry Royale Parade. It was our first time in the parade and we had a blast! Joining us in the parade were staff members and their families, volunteers, board members, and Trikers, all of course wearing our Live United shirts! Thank you also to Astro Building Products for donating a lot of our building materials, and to Meijer for letting us use their carts to make our four miniature floats.

The 84th annual National Cherry Festival is in the record books. Our Melissa Miles single handedly did back ground checks on over 500 volunteers for the festival! Nice job Melissa!
Together with UpNorth television we helped produce LIVE the National Cherry Festival Coronation Ball and the DTE Energy Cherry Royale Parade.

Please help her feel welcome.

| The Grand Vision
| | The Grand Vision will team up with United Way for the 15th annual Day of Caring.
The Grand Vision is a network of non-profit, public and private organizations, local elected officials, the business community and citizens. The Grand Vision is a transparent process led by citizens who are willing to make things happen. It's built upon a basic belief that the citizens of the region can make decisions today to create the region of tomorrow.
In the fall of 2008 the people of Antrim, Benzie, Grand Traverse, Kalkaska, Leelanau, and Wexford counties came together to create the Grand Vision, a picture of the region they want to live in.
A support structure has been created to assist you, the organizations and citizens that want to participate in implementing the Grand Vision. That support structure includes the teaming of the United Way of Northwest Michigan Volunteer Center and the Grand Vision.
September 9th is the 15th annual Day of Caring, partnering the Grand Vision with the Volunteer Center to make things happen. |
