Greetings!

Greetings from Jerusalem!

As we enter into the second month of 2010, we are looking ahead and making plans.  In addition to our regular programs that span every given year, we are doing a couple of new things that we are excited about this year.

NEW KINDERGARTEN
 New Gan Kids
There are two kindergartens in the inner city that MBKI supports year-round.  We are adding a third kindergarten to that number (it's pictured below).

This new kindergarten has eighteen 4-6 year olds - all Ethiopian - all from poor families.  The kindergarten just came under new management, and because the previous managment was severely corrupt, it left the kindergarten with virtually nothing.  We plan to purchase much needed supplies, educational games, electronic equipment and books for a new library.  Furthermore, we plan to subsidize a Music and Rhythm enrichment class and at least one field trip before the year ends.

If you are interested in helping us fund any of these initiatives, please email Dov at dov@mbki.org.

HOT LUNCH PROGRAM BENEFIT CONCERT

 Pauly at Mike's Place
Each year we purchase hot lunches for needy kindergarten and elementary school children.  We did some fundraising for this program in October of 2009 and plan to do another fund-raising drive in the next week or so (stay-tuned for more on that).  However, on March 10, Paul Kaszubski (pictured above) and The White Stone Prophecy will be doing a benefit concert in Nashville, TN on behalf of MBKI and the poor children that we work with - all proceeds will go toward our Hot Lunch Program.  Paul is gathering together a few local Nashville bands for this benefit concert.  If you live in the Nashville area, you really should make an effort to attend - Paul is an extraordinary musician/singer/songwriter.  You will be in for a rare treat!

The concert is on Wednesday, March 10 at 6:30ish.  The venue is:
Edgehill Studios Cafe
1201 Villa Pl
Nashville, TN 37212
LEGACY MENTORSHIP PROGRAM
Amsalo

Dov is recruiting five young high-school guys (one of whom is pictured at left) to join a mentorship program that he has developed.  Dov will meet with these guys regularly teaching them leadership skills, character building, responsibility, sacrifice, integrity and how to have a vision for their future.

As these values are being instilled, Dov and these five young men will then volunteer, as a team, with the local community center in the 'hood working with at-risk elementary school children.
If you are interested in supporting the work that we do, you can donate online via our website:  www.mbki.org or send a check to PO Box 331293, Nashville, TN  37203

We hope that you have a great month filled with the blessings and favor of the Lord!

Blessings from Zion,
